I think I Did it My Own Way is quite a bit more AOR-sounding than anything on Visions. Not bad though. Kiske himself is not annoying at all, but the verse melody is a bit silly. The song is ok though :)

On the basis of his myspace clips, Gus sounds pretty cool :) I hope RR will play some gigs in Finland this summer so I can check them out.

Why shock? Our complete album was available off torrent sites before we even had the completed mastered one ourselves :D

It was an insider! :P
Would have thought after the hooha with Saana, Tolkki would have been a bit more protective.

Hey Timo, where can we get the album on Friday?
Play.com has delayed the release date to next Monday 9.
The same with amazon Why don't you make a direct purchase in mp3 version too, like you did with Saana?

I'd like to have it on Friday! And I will not have the cd until next week!

And seeing Frontiers faq... I don't like his terms:
All shipments are sent via priority mail. Which means the shipment is not
insured. All orders are not insured and will not be replaced if damaged or
lost.

If you wish to upgrade your shipment per registered post or UPS, please send
an email to : mailorder_at_frontiers.it

Hey Icebreaker, have you called to the shop?

Also, Levykauppa Äx seems to have the album in their catalogue. Other Finnish shops could have it as well.

I doubt any actual record shop has it, but then again they are disappearing as well. These guys might have ordered straight from Frontiers.
Good that you can get it here somehow.
Will remain interesting, maybe I could try to call Levykauppa X this week and ask are they selling it or not.

I bought the RR album today. It´s so fucking good.
But it´s stupid that there is three singers in this album. On the album reads The Bombastic Album Of Timo Tolkki. The best songs are: Heroes, Glorious And Divine and Revolution Renaissance.

I think I must be one of the only one who just loves I did it my way.... Not complex, sure, but so great ! I mean the more I listen to it the more I "need" to ^^.

Very good album..... Hope (and think) the four other will do the same :)

It is a very catchy song, but too simple. It is good, of course, but it's more rock oriented. My fav song in New Era is Eden is burning.

The only thing I could say about I did it my way is not a "big" final by Kiske, and a solo too short. Other than that, yeah it could sound "simple", but sometimes it's my heart who says if I love a song or not, not the logic... That's the case for this song ;- )

i love the intro to we are magic but then for some reason he never reapeats it. i really prefere the demo becasue he reapeats it with kotipelto singing it. i wonder why tolkki made the change.

We are magic is incredible too.

If you listen to RR version, it's a bit different from the demo. I love Pasi's voice, but for this song I prefer Kotipelto's voice. In the demo, I love the part when Koti sing..."We are maaagiiic...yeeeee....eeeeee....eeee...eeeee" ..........

I don't know if you understand me o_O.........

It's that thing Koti makes a lot of times in the end of a word, the last sound...he stretch the sound while he makes different tonalities...It's the only who can do it with that "timbre". Simply amazing

Then you have the Pasi's version, a lot more powerful and rough...It's beautiful too, but for this song I prefer Koti's voice. Tolkki said this song was for Sammet, but he didn't like the result (maybe because he wanted to have a different tonality for the song and Sammet is very similar to Kotipelto).

We are magic makes me remember a lot of Strato songs and makes me feel strange (sad :( and happy :o ). It has a lot of known and typical Tolkki's sounds and melodies on it.

let's see if TT can invite sammet and kiske again, personally i just thought that kiske did a wonderful job here, his tone is the more adequate and it's clear...

a job well done...

I really enjoyed this video I think it really paints a picture into scenarios to further take the mind into. That and I just love baby polar bears. Thanks to you and the makers of the music and pictures for a breathtaking experience.

It’s funny in the related video section there is this clip of people comparing apples and oranges and trying to rate and sound definitive about the demos vs. the fully produced album. Thanks for putting your time into creating a artful video instead of that kind of nonsense.

OK, i'm almost finished listening to Revolution Renaissance - New Era. Last Night On Earth has just finished and now onto the track Revolution Renaissance. It didn't give me the buzz that a lot of old Stratovarius albums gave me but I guess my music taste has evolved a tiny bit since then as most of my purchases these days are more of the Folk metal variety. Anyway... I thought the Pasi songs were the best on the album along with Keep The Flame Alive. The Pasi songs had lots of soul I thought. Tobias still unimpresses me, his voice should be sent back in time to the 80's with any hard rock group. Kiske (Time for me to get flamed here) Does some good and some that just doesn't get me going. This Revolution Renaissance track and Keep The Flame Alive being the better on this album IMO. As I said there, my opinion, everyone is different and we make our own choices about what we think. On a whole the album is about a 6 or 6.5 out of 10 for me. Could have been a bit more bombastic.

Seems to me that most professional reviews of RR are quite positive.
I guess it's just dissapointed Strato-fans who dislike it.

Andrew Hawnt interviewed Tolkki last week, and the interview is going to be in a future POWERPLAY magazine.
