SCORPIONS drummer James Kottak has launched his official web site at this location: http://www.jameskottak.com/ In a posting on the site, Kottak had the following to say about the songwriting and recording process for the group's new album, "Unbreakable":
"This will give you and idea of the laborious process it is to create 'The Ultimate Hard Rock CD'... 'Unbreakable', which Rudolf, Klaus, Matthias, and myself wrote over 150 songs, with only 13 songs making the grade! Well...we have a few tucked away for special release....HA! I am proud to say that 4 of my own songs appear on the record... Yeah!!!
"Preparing for 'Unbreakable' actually started over 2 years ago. After the Berlin Philharmonic CD 'Acoustica', we knew it was time for a smash and trash hard rock extravaganza.
"Starting while on tour in 2002, we would sit in the back of the tour bus late night, playing each other songs each of us had written, writing, listening to new stuff on the radio, and brainstorming what each one of us thought which direction should the new CD take. Soon after it was unanimous, which is to make the ultimate hard rock CD!!!
"It wasn't really that profound, we just knew we had to come up with 20 great hard rock classics, which was easier said than done."

I like some songs of them, most of them are ballads. They are teh ballad band!
I won't download this new cd until I have listened some of their previous works... and it'll take me a long long long long long long LONG LONG LONG time.

They're are not a ballad band, belive me. Only at the begining of the 90's they became more balladish. Before they were a kick ass hard rock band.
Their new album is pretty good.

The Berliner Philharmoniker CD was called "Moment of Glory" and the subsequent acoustic album was "Acoustica". Kottak should get his facts straight! Scorpions rock pretty hard in their 80's metal way. Not many people care for Klaus Meine's voice, but I think they are a really talented band that has a big future even though they're old guys now. :spin1:

I'm going through a Scorpions addiction, these days, due to I have download a Best Of and some of their previous mp3 (the ones that are covered in the A Tribute To The Scorpions CD) like Crying Days (brutal song, indeed) and so on.
