I'm not too sure I've never seen a live show. I be they're nice though. So I guess I would have to say studio for now. But I've seen the DVD live footage and it looked great.

Live in a good venue with a nice sound and 50% less loud the shows normally are. With "normal" volume, it's pure pain and torture. I wonder how good it would sound like if the volume was low enough for you to actually hear some notes here and there.

I'd say live music but only if the band doesn't play the songs just like on the album. Of course since the bands play shows for the fans the songs should be recognized but still small variations here and there just spices things up.

I prefer lives!

I think that it's in their live performances that a bands shows all his capacity, and stratovarius are very powerfull on stage.

It depends on what type of listen and what type of band I want to listen to. For exemple, if I listen to a very technical band where every single note is important (like, say, Dream Theater, Spiral Architect, etc...), I prefer studio sound because it's clearer and way more "pure". But if it's about a very explosive and powerful band (Strato, Children of Bodom, Blind Guardian, etc...), I prefer live because all the power there is on a studio album just hits you in the face ten times harder.

Recorded in studio music!

Live is good, but sometimes not good as studio recorded material!

Live or Studio

I think live songs sometimes sound a little bit harder than songs recorded in the studio.

Infinite Visions DVD is very nice :o

I like to hear the songs live, but only if they do something different from the albumversion. It´s a bit boring if Ít´s exactly the same, like Nightwish does. Sonata Arctica is great live, with Tony´s growling and Jani´s additional solos ( The end of "False news travel fast" on songs of silence and " Land of the free" on Only way you can)
We don’t necessarily discriminate.
We simply exclude certain types of people.

I like both. Live and studio music both has its own magic. Maybe live is more preferable for me, as it's rare to hear live songs than studio songs.

It depends on the music. I mean: some groups are too boring in stage like Dream Theater, Opeth, To Die For, Anathema, etc. I find these bands to be boring because they play their songs exactly as if they were recording the CD.

On the other hand, there are bands who make encore, introduce variations in their songs, let the public sing, improvise, etc such as Stratovarius, Children Of Bodom, AFI, Edguy, Helloween, Nargaroth, Rage, etc.

Well, and I prefer CD version if the band sucks live, like Sonata Arctica, In Flames, Dark Moor, Therion, etc

Well....i think it depends on the song and the band....like....dream theater is realy boring lve.....they are great musicians but they cannot interact whith the public because they have to concentrate on the musics details unlike stratovarius that have a lot more power...in my opinion stratovarius is a much better band than dream theater because of that....both have great musicians but it doesent seems to me that dream theaer plays from the heart like strato guys....in case of musics...i think that most of the musics are better live but some like against the wind wich is heavier on studio and speed of light (that one because i dont like tolkki's improvisations on the fast picking parts wich ruins the music to me) are much better songs recorded on studio....Tolkki is one of the bestto me but he could make the fast pickings parts the right way live.....
