I just think they're doing awesome job. Who's had the guts before to do this? Like if HEAVY METAL was sacred or something, not to be played but in PURE, TRVE form...

65 million years ago five dinosaur eggs of metal were laid. Witches found them and cast spells on them for numerous years until last year 2009 the eggs cracked open and out of them came the Hevisaurus, the band consisting of Mr Hevisaurus, Riffiraffi on guitar, Muffipuffi on bass, Komppimomppi on drums and Millipilli on keyboards. These charismatic heavy-dinos want to spread the gospel of heavy music to all members of the family.

Hevisaurus was founded by a group of heavy metal musicians after a couple of year's discussion. Their aim is to deliver children and all child-minded people some quality music, in this case some quality children's heavy music. Makers of the album represent the generation who grew up while they listened to music from the huge heavy monsters like Judas Priest, DIO, Iron Maiden and AC/DC.

The idea was first born how to make quality heavy music especially for children by combining their own world and surroundings in the song lyrics. [In Finland] lots of children, even the very young, listened to heavy music already, and after Lordi's huge success heavy music has reached a huge number of even kindergarten-aged kids. Even there exist many child-oriented rockbands, this kind of pure heavy band making original songs for children has not existed before, nowhere in the world. And "as we're talking about what is nowadays almost considered national music in Finland, there was a gap to fill" says the father of the idea, Mirka Rantanen (Thunderstone).

Visiting on the Jurahevin Kuninkaat -album are well known names like Jens Johansson (ex-Dio, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Stratovarius), Henrik Klingenberg (Sonata Arctica), Mikko Kosonen (Maija Vilkkumaa), Nino Laurenne (Thunderstone) and Mikko Salovaara (Kiuas). The album consist of several new dinosaur-themed songs added with a couple of well-known but re-arranged chilren's favourite songs.

Juraheavy musical for the whole family at Linnanmäki Peacock-theatre (Helsinki) A Komediateatteri Arena production.

There are some things that are best left unexplained...
But I think that's a fun way to introduce kids to metal music.

When I read that Jens played on the album I couldn't stop myself from downloading it! I love Jens' solo on the Mörri-Möykky song.

Wow... that's pretty crazy, but kinda cool as well. In a strange, slightly surreal way. Which is, as I've discovered, what most Finnish things are like.

Well in the live-video's I've seen they do not wear the big dinosaur hands. So their own hands are free to play the guitar/keys/drums.

If they did so, the guitarrist would miss every single note. Can you imagine Jens playing keyboard in that dinasour suit ?
