My dream come true.
Helloween and Stratovarius. My two favorite bands of all time. Together. @_@ Words... WORDS! I need words to describe this awesomeness!

This is the coolest thing, that ever have happened in the legacy of power metal
I think Strato will play about 9 songs. A few weeks ago they played 12 songs and it was a 1 h 15 minutes long show

You're welcome.
I'm quite sure they'll plan a South American Tour, as usual. But will Strato play with Helloween all tour long ? Concerning North America, I don't know. Sometimes it is too expensive for Helloween to play in the United States.

They don't need to go to the States, just south of there is fine
It's a shame a lot of great bands just can't go to the US. Like Strato didn't play in the States until 2005 - I was living there at the time, and got to see them 2 days before my b-day btw

Oh yeah I remember that. I think they played in New York city at BB kings maybe but I couldn't find a ride, I can't remember. The reason why bands don't come to the states is because most people don't have the attention span for power metal. Maybe people can find something in common with pop music with repetitive catchy choruses. Dragonforce, well, maybe people listen to that in america. The first "power metal" band to be acknowledged because of the guitar hero video game. I doubt they know there are other power metal bands out there. How would you feel if you thought dragonforce was the only power metal band on earth??

A stratovarius or helloween set is more pop than a dragonforce set.

If you are talking about the European scene...that makes sense I guess.
I don't know who sells more records in either country.

Yes, Strato is a guest, I know. But does that mean they can't change their setlist finally? I will surely wait with buying tickets for the show in Holland. I first want to know what the set is gonna be like. If it is again Hunting High and Low, A Million Lightyears Away, Phoenix and all the other songs they play since 2006 I will not be there. I want to see and hear something fresh and new.

Do you really mean that, wait for the setlist? I don't care what they play i like them all. You talk like they play in Holland 3 times a year. Come on be a true FAN

It's just a pity, but on the other hand it's very true, unfortunatelly. USA should listen to "REAL" Power Metal bands

It'd be nice if people did, then I wouldn't have to drive 3+ hours to see shows

thanks to getting a bit lost on the ohio turnpike, a 4 hour journey ended up being 5 and a quarter.

I’m talking in the sense of those 3-5 minute radio single oriented song structures.

Did they take Gamma Ray and Axxis to the US in 07/08?

Gamma Ray and Helloween were together all the tour long. Gamma Ray was more a second headline than a guest. But I think Axxis didn't tour in the USA, it was another band.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the Seven Sinners tour is visitng Denmark. But then I'll just have to go to Hamburg (as always) or perhaps this is just the excuse I need to finally get my act together and visit Finland!

First let me clarify some things: I'm not denying that DragonForce IS a Power Metal band. In fact, when I first heard "Fury Of The Storm" I thought "Man! This dudes fucking rock! I need to listen more". Unfortunatelly to my opinion all their 4 albums are pretty much the same: Incredibly fast drums, guitars, keyboards; similar lyrics...I just don't see progression in their music style, just make comercial songs to be played on every single radio station. That's why I stopped listening to them.
And about "REAL" PM bands, they should try Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Helloween, Angra, Nightwish, Manowar, HammerFall, Iced Earth...You know, the pioneers of Power Metal
