Yes, the bootleg of their latest show is floating around; I'm still trying to figure out how to download it 'cause it's only in .wav format. Once I get it converted to MP3 I'll have it available in a top-secret place; you can PM me for the "directions".

Sorry Jens, I know how much you hate downloading, so if I'm going against the rules I'll come back and edit this post.

Eddie from Queensryche also hates bootlegging, and I apologize to him in advance too.

OMG, and Jimbo Barton is involved! I have a good feeling about this!

They're playing in L.A. next weekend, and sadly, I can't go.

The teaser sounds so good, I've never really checked out Queensryche but I'm going to have to buy this new album.

^You really should; just don't check out anything past 1997. At least not until the new stuff comes out!

Is there any good albums to start on or a best of to pick up that covers most of the 80s-90s era music?

Operation: Mindcrime is pretty unanimously concidered their greatest moment, but you can't go wrong with Queensrÿche EP, Warning, Rage For Order or Empire either.

Rage for Order and Promised Land are my personal favorites, but Mindcrime is considered their "magnum opus". Empire is their most commercially successful album, so I'd say to start there and work your way backward (or forward 2 albums). It's not a bad starting point; I became a Queensryche fan in the Empire days!

They do have a few "best of" albums, but really, I have always been disappointed in the tracklisting they choose for those albums. If you really want to hear Queensryche at their best, it's better to just go at it album by album and hear for yourself the way they progress into different types of musical soundscapes.

C! Long time no see indeed - I'm doing really well (though I can neither confirm nor deny any involvement with the CIA), how are things with you? :)

This song alone destroys everything they've done in the last 10 years or so. I absoutely love it! Hope we'll hear more of this on the new album.

Doing pretty good; I'm alive, I can't complain.

Indeed, the new song kicks ass and is the first time since DeGarmo left that I feel that old enthusiasm I used to get when hearing Queensryche's music.

Tate made a mistake leaving Crimson Glory for this shitshow. Rather than work with established great composers, he's lended himself to a more recognized group that used to work with a great composer, but never was really able to do it themselves, so they all sat down and basically made fairly generic sounding metal that is greatly aided by La Torre's excellent voice.

Compare with this demo and you'll see what I mean.

No offense Rebel, but the guys from Queensryche are great composers. Granted, maybe not the level of DeGarmo, the composer that gave them their signature sound; but Wilton and Rockenfield have never been slackers at songwriting either. If your comments about a "shitshow" is in reference to what they've done over the last 15 years, that can be attributed to Tate and *his* shitty "songwriting". Now that he's gone the quality level has automatically kicked up a notch.

I thought it was a hell of a bold move to make the new album self-titled. At first I was a little disappointed by it, as they already have a self-titled album; but it was more of a figurative middle finger than Tate's blatant "F.U.".

Outside of Mindcrime, I really don't think anything Queensryche ever did compared to Crimson Glory though. Jon Drenning is an extremely talented guitarist and songwriter, and it's just a shame they can't get a consistent thing going.

I really hope you're wrong on this. I wastly prefer the new QR song, "Redemption" to that CG demo you posted.
I guess there's no other way to judge but by judging the outcome after I get my hands on the new QR album...

So far I've really enjoyed everything I've heard from the Tate-less QR, I'm starting to get somewhat hyped about this album.

I'll be so glad when the court rules one way or the other in November, it gets irritating hearing the band referred to as "Todd's Queensryche" or "Tate's Queensryche".

Could he be so idiotic to stage this for more attention? The person of whom he took that phone is happy and dancing seconds after he throws it away. I can't imagine anyone being happy when someone throws your iPhone away.
