FESTIVAL REPORTS/REVIEWS

Post by browneyedgirl » Thu May 20, 2004 6:33 am

There are supposed to be 4 festivals within the next few days/this weekend.

Please write your report here in this thread, if you do not mind!

Those of us who can't go would love to hear your experiences&how the shows went. OK?
Thanks!

And those who did go would love, I know, to hear how other people felt about the shows&what good times were had! :)

One show in Netherlands supposed to be tonight, I think. The schedule is on Moony's(Marko)website.
Looks like the Guys are going to be VERY busy.....I hope it goes OK, and they don't give themselves out. A show a day for 4 days straight--2 in France.
Good luck, guys! :)

I thought someone fom the forumwould've reported by now. Well, maybe Jens or TT will report something after this weekend. I am going to check other forums to see if I can find a review.
Tavistia is tonight! That should be great! :)

"The show in Holland went just fine. As everyone knows, we've been having all sorts of problems lately and in the light of that the concert was a positive surprise. A pretty normal show actually, nothing strange about it", told Kotipelto to Sonera Plaza.

Thanks![/quote]Well, the article was in Finnish and I think you need to have a username and a password to view it, but what I translated over there was pretty much everything there was to it as regards to this topic. They were just telling that the band returned to the stages in Holland for the first time after the pretty scandalous show in Spain. Kotipelto also advised that "If one wants to see us at Tavastia tonight, they should get the tickets pretty fast since the show was almost sold out a couple of days ago". Then they mentioned that after the show at Tavastia, the band will fly back to Europe to play two shows in France. That's it. :)

I know that I shouldn't, but I'm dying to know if TT has talked to TK about what happened and so on...
I'm really anxious to have some good news.

I think they spoke, and I feel that Stratovarius will be back soon! Tolkki will feel immediately better if Kotièeòto will say he accepts to join the crew!!!

We all got one of those T-shirts for free :)

Anyway, I think Strato gave us a pretty good concert, almost excellent. Tolkki and Kotipelto were not even glancing at each other but that didn´t matter. Jörg and Kotipelto were in my opinion the two stars in this concert.

Here is the set list:
Intro
I walk To My Own Song
Speed Of Light
Reign Of Terror
Father Time
Eternity
Forever Free
Season Of Faith's Perfection
I´m Still Alive
The Kiss Of Judas
Phoenix
Hunting High And Low
---
Forever
Black Diamond
Destiny

It seems to me that Stratovarius is most likely playing there last shows. That's life.
Enjoy the last concerts! I did.
Thanks for posting the setlist. I wasn´t sure in which order the songs came :D I think the guys handled the gig pretty well, I mean the Timos were not openly hostile and Koti seemed to have fun with Jens... Well, in the end I must agree that they probably will play their final shows. But I´m glad they´ve decided to go down in "a blaze of glory"...I mean, they really gave folks an awesome show :)

Until CDstore will stop selling such great albums like "Visions", "Episode" or "Destiny", there will still be that great band called Stratovarius somewhere, roaming around. Think about it 8)

DESTINY ENDING THE SHOW???

WHAT A ....

BLACK DIAMOND IS CALLED TO BE THE LAST SONG ON EVERY STRATOVARIUS SHOW... THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THE SETLIST, BUT BLACK DIAMOND HAS TO BE THE LAST ONE...

TO ME, I DON´T CARE IF THEY PLAY FRIGHT NIGHT AND TWILIGHT TIME COMPLETE ALBUMS LIVE, BUT THE LAST SONG MUST BE BLACK DIAMOND...

(AS TK SAID IN BARCELONA... THIS IS NOT WHITE, BLUE, RED OR YELLOW... BUT IT´S

BLACK DIAMOND!!!!!

Well first off thank you for the fantastic pictures! I do not however see any problems, the only vibe i got from the pictures is that they are all trying really hard to give the best show possible.

english translation is
Hirson - Festival of the Rotunda - May 22, 2004

Some words (in french, sorry...) on the concert of yesterday evening:
Very good concert in the freshness (7°) of the north of France.
The group seemed relatively tended but delivered a very professional
service for the pleasure of all those which had made displacement. Setlist with few things near like that mentioned above, with Black Diamond to finish the set. Duration: 1h30.
Not only one glance enters both Timo, TT remaining isolated in the shade from the scene. Just some remarks exchanged with Jari during the concert.
All seemed there to fulfill their obligations without making proof of
the least pleasure of playing together.
Mention particular to Timo "Thank you very much" Kotipelto which
delivered to us as each time an exceptional show; it is large a frontman. Perhaps will see it representing Finland with the Olympic Games for
the throw javelin, considering what it does with its foot of microphone!!!
I am unaware of what will be made the future of the group, but as much I imagine Stratovarius without TK badly, but I hope of any heart that these last concerts are not a last blow
of hat announcing the exit of the artists...

The show at Tavastia was great, I got a free T-shirt which says: Strato is dead, long live Strato on front and on the back it says: I was there crazy and proud 'til the bitter end Tavastia '04.
I haven't killed him yet sir,
But when I do, I shall have the stomach and the liver too,
And the floppily doppilies in their horrid glue.
