guitar processor

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

Good sounding?

.... Tube Amp @ 10 and playing skills ;)

No serious: For more thrash like stuff try high distortion, high treble, very few middle frequencies and the bass a bit stronger, but not too much, so it sounds quite scooped. Dont know about that effect thing though... try that tube amp :D

I hate my MT-2. I've never been able to get a decent sound out of it. Any suggestions on what settings to use to get a good sound (both on the pedal, and on the bass/mid/treb equalizer on an amp)?

I will write my settings which I use mostly, scale is from 1-10

Thrash Metal - Distortion:
- Level : 5
- High: 7
- Low: 7
- Middle: 1
- Mid Freq: 6-7
- Dist: 10

Power Metal - Distortion:
- Level : 5
- High: 8
- Low: 8
- Middle: 4
- Mid Freq: 6
- Dist: 10

These are my settings and I think it sounds very good.

Cool, I'll give it a try. One other question for you: what EQ settings do you have on your amp? (Treble, Mid, Bass, etc)

1 tip. If you use less distortion, you can get a heavier sound.

I have all of them right in the middle. But I change them at the mixing table, which I don't do very often, because If I want to play clean afterwards, I have to re-do all the settings.

Well...that's possible. But I like the sound of maximum distortion.

For solos maybe, but overall a little less distortion sounds better... you dont want to sound like a synth on steroids... but its a matter of taste basically.

I have a MArshall JMP-1 Midi Preamp, that thing can take you to trash to black metal. Is really versatile, i recomend it.
