I absolutely love Stratovarius, mind you, I'm skipping school for a few days and seeing them live in Chicago when they come to the States :D But anyways, Stratovarius and Blind Guardian really have no connections... at all. Guitar solos in Stratovarius vs. little to none in BG. Plus, Hansi is just ...

Easily the alts would be...
Edguy (Tolkki worked with Tobias Sammet on his Avantasia project, Part II).
Angra (Strato toured with the elder Angra, but I find the new stuff, especially Temple of Shadows is just downright amazing)
Kamelot (I cannot get enough of Roy Khan's voice).
And, Dragonforce ...

Anyone seen Malmsteen live? I saw him at G3 in 2003. Excellent, still lives up to his name. This album better be good if I should shell out any more money on him.

Edguy had a huge reception in LA, Atlanta and NY. Kotipelto visited Atlanta and said he was very impressed with the American metal scene.. or something or rather. The metal market is growing in the US, big time. The ultimate tour: Sonata Arctica, Angra, Stratovarius.

At first, I thought that Blaze was only good in solo albums until I picked up the Factor X.

I truly think that the Maiden albums with Blaze are all underrated and should be listened to all the way through a few tiems.

True, but it says ALOT about both men and the band that they ADDED a new show despite all the mishaps in the past.

We can only wait and see, but in the meanwhile, let's speculate away.
