Re: Post samples of your playing!
I started a little over 10 years ago, but after the first years any active practicing (ie. of the truly grinding many-hours-per-day kind) was forgotten

Re: Post samples of your playing!
I think some parts detune because of applying too much pressure on the Floyd rose in excitement

Re: Post samples of your playing!
http://www.freewebs.com/miguel_ricardo/practiceMR.mp3 just made the leads Hey, that's truly ninjasweet, especially the very beginning and when it picks up more near the end :) I needed something to practice using a proper multitrackprogram, and having finally learned all parts sort of, did this: ht...

Re: The next Album
If they're tired of doublebassdrum passages, I hope they write at least one fast single BD song a'la Maiden or Priest with kickass guitar riffs
And yes, an epic with multiple parts in the oldfashioned way, not just something with a long instrumental outro, would be nice to hear.

Re: Post samples of your playing!
This is not very representative but I nevertheless wanted to share this weird clip recorded in 1998: http://agentsofmetal.free.fr/caca/dickrise.mp3 It's a partial "Will the Sun Rise" covered with changed lyrics + 2 rhythm guitars. Drums and bass programmed. Apologies for horrible soundquality, it wa...

Re: Straton tribuutti.
No, tämä antaa ainakin vähän perspektiiviä, ettei suomalaisten metallilaulajien englanninääntämyksestä tarvitse pakosta olla kovin huolissaanskar wrote: EDIT: Pitää perua vähän puheita. Alku on kohtuullinen tribuutiksi, mutta kauheus kasvaa mitä korkeammalle laulu menee!

Re: PREVIEW OF NEW ALBUM BUT WAS IT RIGHT?
Great to hear breathing & inventive guitar riffs once again. I was scared when the press preview talked about basically all songs being "midtempo" 'cos I interpreted that to mean something like Enter Sandman or even slower but now I understand that was in comparision to Speed of Light-tempos

Re: Yngwie/Stratopastiche - Tranquility Bay
Yep, DFH used. I'm actually a member in couple of bands/projects, but this kind of "solo" stuff is a nice outlet for perversions I wouldn't want to force on anyone else.

Re: Singing like Timo Tolkki.
Sometimes I wonder what kind of musical direction they would have gone, if they had continued with an aggressive (like Tolkki) but also technical vocalist
(not that I don't respect Kotipelto - he of course IS the voice of Strato - but one can still imagine things..)

Re: Yngwie/Stratopastiche - Tranquility Bay
Hey, it's good if it's more Malmsteenish, 'cos that's what I primarily aimed for :) Aresius: let's see if I can answer... I'm not terribly expert in recording, this was done just by feeding signals from mic & guitar multieffect directly to PC and using a multitrack-recording program (Goatstudio, tex...

Re: What guitar you have?
I have a Jackson JS30, which is my main guitar, but it currently needs replacement parts for its licensed Floyd
Also have a Japanese Stratocaster with HS-3's installed for some Yngwie sounds. No scalloped fretboard though.

Yngwie/Stratopastiche - Tranquility Bay
Hi! This is a half-joke (except for lyrics - fuck all WWASPS facilities!) extreme Yngwie/Strato-clonesong, with an attempt to cram in as many cliches as possible. Contains programmed drums & keys and rest played live. Hope you have fun listening. http://www.student.oulu.fi/~loorni/Tranquility...

Re: Singing like Timo Tolkki.
Tolkki seems to forcibly strain his throat on the high notes to create the unique sound, instead of letting go to lighter headvoice or falsetto. It's probably bad for your voice to follow this habit. But if you really want to do that, just try to use as much force/aggression as possible and prepare ...
