Re: Learning keyboard without lessons
Hmmm, I was just reading an interview with Jens where he said he is self-taught. Maybe there is hope....

Re: Learning keyboard without lessons
Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it. Like I said, one reason I quit my piano lessons was due to my eyesight. It makes it rather difficult for me to read the music as I play, I know it takes years to become a good sight reader but with my eyesight I don't think its practical(and no, glasses o...

Learning keyboard without lessons
Ok, I'm interested in learning keyboard. I took piano lessons for a short while (a couple of months) and decided that just wasn't working for me. I don't want to be a pianist, I want to be a keyboard player. My interests are in players like Jens Johansson, Mikko Harkin, Janne Warman, and Tuomas from...

Re: Cover by Stratovarius
I don't think it's important who came first or who is bigger. I think it would work very well BECAUSE Sonata has taken so much influence from Stratovarius. anyway, it was just a random idea, nothing will ever come of it.

Re: Cover by Stratovarius
They should do an album with Sonata Arctica where they both cover each others popular songs. Well, it would make me happy at least.

Re: What guitar you have?
I have a jackson KE3, an LTD M350, and a Fender Stratocaster that is in the process of being moddified to be like Yngwie's stratocasters(scalloped neck and all that crap)
I was thinking about scalloping the M350 but I figured that was a bad idea being as its neckthrough, so if I mess up its screwed.

Re: Jens Johansson...help me!
He should do an album with Janne Warman. Just an hour of him and Janne dueling it out on their keyboards, That would be fascinating.

Re: Best Solo-competition [Keyboard]
I'd love to hear someone play the intro to sonata arctica's "the cage". Jens is a monster.
