It actually sounds quite good.
Add it to the list of music that "borrows" from Strato. We've had Cellador, DBZ: Budokai (3 times) and now this.

Re: Elysium World Tour 2011?
I suspect it's an ebb and flow thing really. Speaking for nobody other than myself a few years ago I got really burned out on all the pomp and cheese in Metal and started to listen to less melodic, more crushing sounds. A few years after that I started getting back into Prog and Power Metal since I ...

Re: Elysium World Tour 2011?
Clearly. Just when I was thinking "we don't see much in the way of a power metal tour in the UK" I saw in the newspaper that Sonata have some UK dates (and outside of London no less, nearly gave me a heart attack from shock) which should go some way to sorting the lack of Strato on this tour. Incide...

Re: A good keyboard/synthesizer to get
A better first instrument will inspire you to practise and experiment more, so going for the cheapest option isn't always the best idea. I can't stress this enough. If you buy the absolute minimum you simply won't have fun playing and as such you're less willing to learn. That's not to say you shou...

Re: A good keyboard/synthesizer to get
Slight necrobump here but my main MIDI device died earlier on in the week and I figured "well, why not try something a bit different" so I went out and bought the RB3 keyboard. As it turns out, it's a rather fun little device. About the only irksome part is that the ribbon is natively mapped to mod...

Re: Demo Songs
After having a few more days to listen, I want to thank whichever person in the band came up with the idea to provide the demos as a bonus. They offer a slightly different take on the songs. The Darkest Hours demo amusingly sounds "darker" than the CD version.

Re: Demo Songs
Thing is, lyrics really have to match the melody of the song (this isn't Rap music after all) so some words might have too many syllables or sound odd when changed to fit the melody.

Re: Stratovarius in America?
Scotland has a separate legal and educational system, as well as its own currency (well sort of.) There's even a party which is trying to get Scotland to become an independent state (which I'm sure will work out wonderfully.) As for Scottish national identity, from what I gather it mostly revolves ...

Re: Demo Songs
It's interesting to note that what makes up a Stratovarius demo could very well just be released as an album on its own.
As for the Infernal outro not making it in, it might be because it sounds remarkably like Kiss of Judas.

Re: Stratovarius in America?
For some strange reason, Power Metal bands seem to have a hard time cracking the US (and to a lesser extent, the UK). It's probably not helped by the Latin America and Japan regions who are, shall we say, rabid fans of the genre. It's not cheap to tour the US either since venues are largely clustere...

Jens, are you sure the band didn't pick up some Gypsy curse somewhere along the way? For the last five years it's been one thing after another just shitting on everything that Strato do. Flu, cancer, cancelled shows and even shows going up in flames. Strato could easy fuel a trilogy of Emo albums wi...

Re: does Metal get radioplay in your country?
But then again I think that's why there is an appeal for metal to a lot of fans because it isn't a popular genre, I mean seriously if metal was as popular as pop music would we think of it in the same way? Forgive me for stepping onto a soapbox here. Metal is an obscenely popular genre, even in the...

Re: Judas Priest is retiring in 2011
They're not splitting up, they're just not going to tour after 2011. Plenty of future music to come from JP I think.
I saw them in early 2009 alongside Megadeth and there wasn't a single thing wrong with Rob's voice (or Megadeth for that matter). He even managed Angel perfectly.

Re: OSBOURNE's New Guitarist GUS G. To Make Debut At BLIZZCON
One thing I'll give Ozzy is that he has a very unique voice, however I have talked with many other metal fans and most do agree with me that when it comes to the best singers Black Sabbath ever had they consider Dio to actually be the best. Thing is, Dio has always had one of the best singing voice...

Re: Lil' Wayne Must Be A Huge Stratovarius Fan
Lil Wayne is known to be a pretty big fan of rock and metal so I'm not too surprised he's sampled another metal track.
That said, it's not actually that bad a track. Never thought I'd say that about Lil Wayne but he's easing up on Autotune a little which was my only main complaint.

Re: OZZY Sues TONY IOMMI Over Ownership of BLACK SABBATH
I don't give a fuck about how much an album sells. Look how shit like Jonas Brothers or Hana Monthana sells. Does it make the music any good? "Good" is entirely too subjective a merit to be used for music. Sales are the real mark of a successful musician. In addition, if something is sold in vast q...

A backfist is when you swing a punch outward from yourself instead of inward and catch the target with the back of your hand. With an open fist, it's a pimp slap. I'd imagine that getting hit like that in the groin would drop a man for quite some time.

[quote="lalodrums2" That's exactly my big concern because If they did It in the past, they can do it now, maybe someday they will decide to switch, and Matias is going to play with RR and TT again with Strato? Maybe they wanted to have an extra guitar player in the band and this is the strange way o...
