Re: StratoUnited

There was an interview to Jorg Michael from the Infinite era (I think) where he was asked wheat would they do if Timo Tolkki for some reason left the band. He answered that it would be easy to find another great guitar player but it would be impossible to replace the composer. It would be hard to fi...

So basically Sonata Arctica is now just the name of Tony Kakko's solo project, cause otherwise labels and stuff wouldn't even have a look.

Re: StratoUnited

No thanks, it would be sad to see the same sloppy and imprecise style of playing of the last two tours... go watch some YouTube videos and check yourself. Perhaps if he takes it seriously and rehearses couple hours a day he could reach the required level to do a reunion and a decent live performance...

I knocked up against this one today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxbe5MynRI0 and it made me reaffirm all of this we're talking about... how they have turned THAT MUCH from powerful, rich and vibrant in into bland and lifeless sounding of their current https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQT292b8E88 ...

Re: New Stratovarius album: a list of demands

I guess labels they spend 1/20 of what they did on good studios in the 90's-2000's... hence sound quality consistency, ear-pleasing production good aging are lost in the majority of cases.

I miss Tolkki’s Stratovarius. Al these songs are ok but they dont hold the Stratovarius essence al all. Maybe I am being nostalgic but anyway.

I'm also disappointed that those albums were taken away from Spotify... please bring them back! It hurts the band not to be there even though the conditions are not so good.

That's right. But not only for the live thing, but in composing Jani adds a different color and melodies that are totally refreshing.

I got the DVD today. Had to order it because I couldn't get the blu-ray in time due to lack of stock in Amazon. I really liked the setlist, though I would have changed those covers which have zero interest to me to some good song from Destiny or Infinite... Band played great, sound and mixing are am...

So I will advice him to leave here as soon as possible. Or even better if he had done so looong ago! Hate...

Alex Landenburg i'm quite confident he's going to be the on. i mean, Peter could really do the job, since he already played power metal in the past with Time Requiem (Richard Andersson's band/project)but i don't see him right now in these horizons, Peter's more oriented to Darkane/Labrie's stuff no...

If you think the current Stratovarius is not interesting or original, I unfortunately must respect your opinion... Later releases under the name Stratovarius are just using it for the sake of the trademark. Easier to get gigs, easier to get to put an album out, many things easier. Who would have be...
