Re: SonataArctica - Stones Grow Her Name (new album)
The new album turned out pretty great I think. I find it pretty strange that they chose the worst song from the album to be the first single, but at least I listened to the whole thing with lowered expectations. :Đ Anyway, it sounds like a cross between Unia and Reckoning Day to my ears, a chan...

Re: The Circle Of Silence thread
Their riffing is a bit too agressive for my taste. Good stuff, though!
The Blackened Halo is an awful album title, by the way, if you consider the very similarly titled Kamelot album.

After a few listens, I must say that the album is great, pretty much what I expected.
@mayhem-for-all: Yeah, he is pretty high on my list too (if I had to rank current musicians, both he and Jens would be in the top5). And it seems like you really got into neo-prog, am I right?:Đ

Read Episode and Dreamspace so far. I'd have probably given them somewhat lower ratings, but well written nonetheless. Thanks for posting this. :>

It was.. alright. Too many "weird" songs on it, not enough interesting moments. The long one is really bad with the second part too.

Sound interesting so far. The beautiful and simple stuff worries me a little, though - after their previous albums I think they would consider slightly symphonic poppy rock as such.

Full Moon is nowhere near my favorite, but it's got the same vibe as the whole Dreamspace album, which I like. The S/T is not as bad as most people say it is, but Maniac Dance in comparison to songs like Back to Madness.

Think 60s psychedelia with king crimson jazz prog and ambient influence.
