personally my favourite keyboard solos coming from jens johansson are 2
IN Stratovarius, it's Forever Free's keyboard solo, because it's so powerful :)

and OUTSIDE Strato, well... almost the whole Enigma Suite

the SpaceShip is like a strong visual element for the real new icon, which i think it is the compass/star shaped thing i've seen in the past 2 records in their modified logo

of course there's gonna be dudes that really have not moved along with the changes of the band, but what can WE do? as fans? not much, just adapt ourselved, and let's face it, 2009-actual stratovarius, has WAY more powerful sound (technically speaking) than the old era, the so called Tolkkivarius ...

i mean, Peter could really do the job, since he already played power metal in the past with Time Requiem (Richard Andersson's band/project)but i don't see him right now in these horizons, Peter's more oriented to Darkane/Labrie's stuff now ...

for Vst's well, if you're not experienced with the usage of sound editing programs/vst hosts, then it can be a little complicated, you better ...

what about Eloy Casagrande? he's just 20 or something and he's GREAT at drumming.

he played drums with Andre Matos solo CD and it's really good!

Peter Wildoer seems like a really talented musician and based on the clip in the first post also a really easy-going and friendly guy. He'd be a good choice.
