Re: Let's talk about Matias Kupiainen

the youtube reasponses are great "Uninspiring, Unimotional, note for notes sake...fret wanking..." - yep, you just about summed it all up, but forgot "showing off", and of course the musical wanking on the arrangement. and for a perfect reasponse to that kind of comment I found your comment uninspi...

Re: Let's talk about Matias Kupiainen

I've seen the medley/solo video from him on youtube. Awesome stuff. If you haven't already, you can download the solo stuff from Mikseri: http://www.mikseri.net/artists/matiaskupiainen-solo.101132.php It's in Finnish but it's really not complicated. The Tavastia 6.11.07 LIVE track includes a slight...

Re: I want to learn Finnish/Suomi, who could teach me?

Seriously talking, I've taught some Finnish to few persons on this forum already, and I think that all Finns around here should try to teach real stuff instead of making fun about others' ignorance. No hard feelings anyone, this is just my opinion. Good luck learning! Give us a list of usefu...

Re: Let's talk about Matias Kupiainen

Well I already knew him from Fist In Fetus when I arrived here, and I can't imagine there'll be too many surprises for anyone who knows his solo and FiF work. I will be interested to see how involved Perttu ends up being though, and in which areas. (Actually, awful as it sounds, I sort of just want ...

Re: I want to learn Finnish/Suomi, who could teach me?

Finnish looks like Norwegian and Italian went to war and the only thing that survived were vowels and the symbols above the letters. indeed  but anyway i like this "warletter" and i wanna try it someday! Someone also said Finnish sounded like the language of Japanese cavemen. My favourit...

That's crap.

I did wonder though - they seem to have half the music industry on their roster, and they'd be taking some spectacular losses if all of them were getting freebies.

Re: Wow this is unexpected...

oh you know an endorsement will come, companies love it when you whore their stuff. Like I said, it depends whether they're aware of him or not. I know unsigned bands with more endorsements than they know what to do with, but I also know very sucessful bands who haven't got major endorsements becau...

Re: Wow this is unexpected...

He's not on the list because I don't think he's actually endorsed by them, just seriously in love with his PRS ;)

An endorsement may materialise when they start touring, it might not, it depends whether PRS are aware of him and his close relationship with his PRS or not :P

Re: Great Expectations: the Obama Era is about to begin!

Of course, 9/11 being the biggest event of his presidential career. Biggest event of his presidency, yes, but I suspect the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq will end up being the most influential, and I also think that's what history will judge him on. As for the far-right;s opinion of Obama..that's re...

Re: Great Expectations: the Obama Era is about to begin!

I did American Studies at uni, and my tutors were rooting for Obama as far back as 2nd year (06/07). Nice to see the rest of the world finally caught up with them  Expectations have been raised so high there'll always be disappointments, but if he pulls off even some of the big stuff (such as g...
