Listening to the new version of Kingdom of a Heart.
Clearly Tony felt it necessary to mix the drums above the rhythm guitars. I think that's about all I need to say about how this ones gonna sound.

Re: Confirmed Stratovarius shows
Anyways, there's 2 videos. The Legions video is really cool, but Lauri playing a bass solo on "Before The Winter" is beyond awesome.

Re: Fourth Dimension demos
I have this one. It's recorded on MC and title is Stratovarius demo -94. I have to say that i like Tolkki's singing on Fright night-Dreamspace but on this one it's awful. Winter is still better with Tolkki's voice tough. There are no Lord of the wasteland and Call of the Wilderness. Instead here is...

Crazy to think he's done 6. There's probably 2 albums worth of great ideas in the whole batch, maybe 3. None of them from Saana

I'm telling you, this is going to hold up to the original release exactly as well as "Flag in the Ground", which I was never a fan of. I think Tony forgot what made him like that kind of music so much.

Sounds like 10 songs have been written, 8 of which will absolutely be on the record, it's great to see him writing again, because he's obviously very talented, and I think the next CO album will be really good.

I hate to be 'that guy' but I don't know if Timo's voice will serve many of those songs well. Might well be shot by the time they get to the title track. That one's just a monster. My favorite band in the world but I worry so much about Timo's live vocals these days when performing such difficult m...

Stratovarius playing full Visions performance at PPUSA
Just saw this on facebook, can't say it's ideal, but still happy to be going. What does this honorable forum (And Mr. Cool Edit, because I'm sure he's going to comment whether I want him to or not) think of doing a full album performance, and Visions in particular.

Where do you find these bands? Do they submit reviews to you? Next american band: Savatage. Some of them, yes, others I find through a facebook group, (US Power Metal Connection), and others just through friends that comb over metal archives. Ghost Opera was awesome. I haven't heard much from them in 4 years (never bothered to look up other albums) Roy Khan left and was replaced by Tommy Karevik from Seventh Wonder. Their singer was probably the best performer of the festival (Cellador and Noble Beast were also there, speaking of awesome US Power Metal). They were probably the only band were I felt like they were 100% performing up to the quality of their studio material.robocop656 wrote:How was it?!?

Re: tolkki samples
This album is Tolkki's worst metal album ever. Self Titled was an ill-advised style shift that Tolkki wasn't terribly interesting with, but this album is just embarassing. "Rise of the Fourth Reich" sounds every bit as bad as "Father" off of Hymn to Life, the epic is underwhelming. I'd say maybe 2-...
