Re: RR NEWS!
Aoa does have a few of my favorite tolkki songs with Future and Kyrie. I do hope he continues the celtic and church themes in the next material. He seems to have a "dream theater" period ;) Apparently he loves the band now... The songs May be inspired by them? o_____________________________________...

Sounded like generic heavy metal. Very good actually, considering it's from a band this old, and without Udo. I liked the song!

wtf? Tolkki = tölkki = can? I still think they played drums on the album Which Appeared Polar? though.Stratovarius Speaking of which, whether Tolkki heard a year ago, which appeared Polar? This is a first-Stratovarius album without cans.

Re: Stratovarius on sweden rock... at the same time as Guns....
but what matters the most is the music don't you think? You can have all the technique in the world but that doesn't always write the song. Yeah. One could actually think being too much a "virtuoso" in the technical side limits his/her ability to compose a cohesive, pleasant song, because they can ...

Oh... wow those are some massive changes  and I really like Evergrey... I have to say this is a bit sad... anyway, best of luck to everyone. But Torn was a huge dissapointment to me Same here. I'm certainly following this. This is interesting. There's a citation from the book Music in the Western World in Wikipedia that states, "...a virtuoso was, originally, a highly accomplished musician, but by the nineteenth century the term had become restricted to performers, both vocal and instrume...

There was a time just has standard melodic guitar, not sure how that’s diverse and outside of anything guns and roses had done before or outside their areas of genre that they have previously touched with slash. It’s done well, but it’s not the genre diversity that I was thinking about. You failed ...

Re: Polaris Live
Vocals corrected??? Yes, but it's a normal thing. High notes are sustained. If we wanted complete perfection we'd just listen to the studio version. I think it would be really lame if they edited the vocals. Most of the fans have seen Stratovarius live anyway and have reasonable expectations... :pu...

Don't know what was the first. Yes, quite possibly something from Black Album. The song that brought me into metal, however, was Stratovarius - Destiny.

I've seen them live 11 times now. Still not bored :D Haven't you toured with them? It's not the same! :D But, well, I guess this proves it. If you like Stratovarius enough, you'll just never get bored of their music. If anyone in the audience could really be bored by the main act, it's the supporti...

Why, I have never gotten bored of any Strato songs, even though I saw Black Diamond, HHAL & stuff live three times last year and must've listened them from the albums as well. Quite frankly, I don't think I can get bored of Stratovarius.

I am the only one I know who's actually liked the song To the Metal. And no Need to Cry is about as good a Gamma Ray ballad as any. That is, VERY good! The whole album is pure awesomeness, although Mother Angel drags it down a bit. Rise, Shine Forever and Chasing Shadows are my favorites in addition...

Sounds awesomely awesome! I don't like how you can't hear the crowd though. Too bad the Destiny sample was just the intro. I just hope I don't have to buy another Polaris for the physical album. :/

I saw them earlier with Freedom Call. Chris Bay said it's FC's final show with Gamma Ray on that tour, so I was pretty glad they had bothered to come to one Finland show, the one I was in! 8) Kai spoke that his voice was taken away by our arctic winds. A minor bump to this thread just to ask has anybody actually seen them? I did during my short absence from this board. I had a hard time with my alarm clock radio once. I had accidentally adjusted the clock time, not the alarm time. When I woke up an hour later I should have, I happened to hear from...

Might as well check out Gn'F'nR's at least for the entertainment value, and in the hopes of some authentic interpretations of Appetite's / either UYI's stuff. CD WAS a decent album at maximum after all. Rather a few good songs and that's it. I've never seen Guns live though, and I've seen Stratovari...

Basicly from when I got up around 8 o'clock until now I've done a hardcore listening season and I have changed my opinion completely. The Album rocks. Bumping for justice. Damn Legend Of The Shadowking is awesome, I think it's their best album thus far.   I agree. By far their most mature and eclectic work to date on all aspects. Still sounds Freedom Call. That feel was lost on their weakest album Circle of Life and most of the...

Then there are us that think it's not automatically great if it's power metal, and actually musicians might even get better results doing something else if they are bored with power metal. And it's great to have many styles of music from one artist. At the moment, though, it seems this Avantasia is ...

Well yeah, Helloween released The Dark Ride, after which they kind of disbanded and went more repetative than ever. :( I hope one day they'll come back with as fresh album as MotR was from Chameleon and TTotO from MotR, for example. I think Thunderstone best fits the 2000s as a band that has born, e...

Re: Dragonforce Splits with singer ZP Threat
Both good and bad news for me. DragonForce have always been very repetitious. In this has lied both the best and worst aspects of that band. I can't even enjoy a whole DF album, but listening to separate song or two sometimes, they sound very great! No matter which song I played from them, they seem...
