Meme theory: Do we come up with ideas or do they, in fact, control us? Mankind's greatest inventions are all the result of individual flashes of inspiration – or are they? Jonnie Hughes argues that, instead, ideas are subject to evolutionary principles, and we humans are little more than their hosts...

Not to beat a dead horse (I think it’s still alive), but I vehemently oppose those evolutionists and accommodationists who won’t affirm that evolution is unguided and purposeless (in the sense of not being directed by a higher intelligence or teleological force). Thank goodness for the "small minority" that "has recently been vociferous in its opposition to the widely supported programme of teaching of values from a Christian perspective in schools". You don't understand what he means by "being" and Consciousness! Oh sure I actually expected this one. Being has nothing to do with the mind or philosophy or science. It's another dimension beyond mind, beyond space and time which can never be reached by science - it's impossible! But nevertheless y...

Science as such has no intrinsic value like life, like love, like blissfulness. These are ends in themselves. Science is only a means. I mean.. IS there a god? My answer is who the hell knows? HOW can anyone know, when there are basic functions of the human body we can't sufficiently explain? The way I see it, it all comes back to Bertrand Russell's teapot - the philosophic burden of proof lies on those making outlandish claims (s...

TKs voice was indeed buried but only in the first half of the concert. And Jens was amazing. He didn't have such a huge spotlight on him unlike the rest of the guys but the things he has added to the songs live are just great. I just love how he doubles the guitar riffs on Speed of Light and Legions...

Re: True Religion
Ok so now I will have to respond too. There are two simple arguments that make all religions pointless. 1. There is no afterlife since there is no soul that could live outside your body. How to prove this? Our mind reflects the state of our brains. We all know that brain damage can alter or erase yo...

Well I think it was great that Torres was the top scorer of the tournament. He wasn't given many chances but he showed that they should have let him play more. I was quite mad at how Spain played. They kept Torres on the bench had practically 10 midfielders (with their defensive line playing quite h...

Watched it on Saturday evening. Had to crawl through their whole discography before watching and I started on Tuesday (last week) and finished Saturday evening. Lauri's bass solo was simply mindblowing. It was not just a concert (a band playing some songs in a row) it was a show. It entertained and ...
