Re: New album fever!!! NEW VIDEO.
Back to grammatics: there should be a mention of epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydelläänsäkäänköhän! That's an odd word though since I've never heard about the action epäjärjestelmällistys nor the verb epäjärjestelmällistyttää, nor the lack of it therefore, like a suffix there states. :P Also, "ymmär...

icecab21. Try to cut the semantics one time and focus on the writer's message behind the determined meanings of the words. Or at least think what the writer would have possibly meant. In addition to avoiding stupid little scism, this also makes staying in topic possible, pretty much. About so...

Re: Timo Tolkki: new book 'Loneliness of a Thousand Years'
Anyone think this book is a cash-in? I don't know what to think. 105 pages isn't exactly a lot - I'm getting a picture this book will include some of the things that were going to be in Hymn to Life - Entr'acte, polished much from the original, bitter writings. He pulled this up so quickly. No...

Re: Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater!
Well, this was too long to read, but assuming Raziel's reaction I can surely state Initiaani said something disrespectful about DT. This forum is a place where everybody can say anything about any topic, and we also have to respect their opinions...And this usually ends up in difficult discussion t...

Re: Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater!
I really think you don't understand what Progressive rock or metal means or you don't want to understand it, or you don't have any idea of the discography of DT. Actually there is sense in all of this. I think DT and Symphony X that first come to my mind from the progressive metal scene just keep r...

Re: Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater!
Never been a big fan of the band. I don't find their music very progressive, or, at least I think of the word 'progressive' in music a little more changing, interlacing than what DT mostly plays. Maybe songs like In the Name of God are progressive, but mostly they seem to me being all about changes ...

Re: 2000-2010 - Wasted Years???
Power metal listeners are definitely searching development from a completely wrong direction. And which is for you the right direction? Some newer genre, or a genre with many young unique bands. I don't really know since I mainly listen to new power metal and otherwise older stuff myself. :D Power ...

Re: 2000-2010 - Wasted Years???
Power metal listeners are definitely searching development from a completely wrong direction. Many music critics have declared the genre as a dying one, but only more recently there has been some improvements. Blind Guardian were near classical music with their new album, and then there's Wuthering ...

Timo Tolkki writes some really awesome music. His lyrics haven't always been the greatest, but not a lot of lyrics are :P What lyrics do you consider good? Pardon the interruption. Devin Townsend. +1 The man's got his very own soundscape. He's in his very own spheres. Especially those more calm songs like Solar Winds and Deep Peace for me... magic. Many of my older relatives, too, seem to dislike TK's voice. o_O In general, many of those who are older and listen to classic rock? Many of my friends like Stratovarius, two of the best listen to it about as much as I do. Mother's mostly saying she's used to it and she can take it, but she actually...

Re: Best Power Metal vocalist?
Had to go with Hansi in the end. He's so much more eclectic than anyone else on the list but Allen. Hansi also has that completely own sound of his. That powerful near-growl thing he can switch on and off on the fly. From that voice I always get the vibes that he sings too loudly into an old microph...

Yeah, a pretty groovy song at first, although I think it might become boring pretty fast. There's too much this metallized Scorpions rock in the vain of Sammet already. :D Good format, needs more changes and spices to it though, like Luca Turilli's Angels of the Winter Dawn from the album The Infini...

All This Time. Mmh. Well. This really didn't do it for me. :/ Nothing of their own there. The nasally singer sounds like an average Italian power metal singer... almost like anyone who's ever sung in Thy Majestie. :D Except with better, less Italian pronounciation. Basic power. Toy power (that Itali...

I think Matos is actually full-scheduled with his band Andre Matos. Kusch had at least Beautiful Sin after Helloween, and it's too bad his compositions there suck. Including that remake of The Departed (Sun Is Going Down) with different words. Just told about the lack of ideas Kusch apparently had. ...

So despite the artist’s intentions and explanations about the song being about Sweden, you are still going to make that interpretation? Some even seem to do it without thinking.
