Many people were suprised there was a new album at allTimoTolkki wrote:Many people will be completely surprised when they hear the album.
You're killing me!!TimoTolkki wrote:I can for sure understand that many people have very contradicted feelings towards Stratovarius at the moment.
But the fact is that we are in the studio recording a new album and we are all very happy and excited about how things are going.
Everything flows smoothly and good things are happening every single day.
I don´t want to let the cat out of the bag yet, but let me just say this:
Many people will be completely surprised when they hear the album.

Maybe we can hear some songs from Jörg and/or Jari?
I was serious as well.browneyedgirl wrote:I'm serious!
Song from Jörg. Hmm are you sure that´s a good idea?Wanderer wrote:It would be nice to hear a song written by Agent JorgJens have shown us that he is a talent songwriter. So it would be fair to let the others try also. I fell in love with Keep the flame...
Hey, if Nicko from Iron Maiden can write songs, why not Jorg?TimoTolkki wrote:Song from Jörg. I´ll ask him if he has something on the store.
But it´s getting late for this record. Perhaps the next one!
I'll already be extremely happy if they come to Portugal, even if they don't come to LisbonPaulo wrote:I'm just really happy that they got back together.
I went to wacken 2003 but didn't see them because I hadn't heard of them and went to see Darkane instead, who I had heard of (which was the best choice at the time). I heard a coup,e of songs from a distance and remember thinking they would have been good. The same happened at Wacken 2004. Me and my mate wanted to see Brainstorm and Kotipelto were on the small stage right afterwards. He'd heard a song or two (I'd not heard of it, and we still had no idea about Stratovarius), but everyone else had gone to town so we decided not to and went to find them.
Then, in a recordstore in Germany the day after the festival, my brother buys a copy of the phenominal Elements part 1 and it absolutely blows me away. Straight away I'm regretting not seeing them when I had the chance, especially when I learn that I'd opted out of seeing the lead singer's side project too.![]()
From there they become my favourite band, but WTF? I go on the website and learn that they've split! Now I am absolutely gutted that I opted not to see them for the one oprtunity I had!![]()
But now they are back together, writing new material and touring, I really am flying! Cheers you guys you are legends!
They'll probably do that really really irritating thing that bands do on World tours though, where they only play 1 UK date. And that's in ****ing London! I mean, for God's sake! If they could do somewhere easier to get to like Manchester as well.... well I'd probably end up going to see them twice actually. Just like we do whenever the Haunted come to England.
I was feeling troubled about it when I first heard. Because I thought to myself. "Maybe it's just Stratovarius (LONG LIVE THE KINGS!!)' TIME to be over" But then I realized that that would probably ruin the lives of the members of the band. Maybe it was good that all this shit happend so that they can be a stonger band? And usually, after problems like this bands put out a really good "comeback album" because they have something to prove.MAJINDIEGO wrote:...i don't know...call me a jerk, but my heart didn't palpitate that much once i've seen the reunion took place...i'm not saying they shouldn't have been together anymore...i just wanted to hear strato back with Tolkki singing...or maybe another vocalist...just for an album....i might be selfish...but all events that followed the split-up seem kind of weird...i don't feel enough confidence...maybe that's because i've seen some nasty shit in my life and got trouble trusting people...i didn't find the "peace" like the others here...to me this story is not over (or yet never even came to exist)

What would the world be like with out Stratovarius (LLTK!!!)?!!!? No world I want to live in!
Than I think you should try another music style than power/melodic metal huh?:) wrote:Timo Kotipelto's voice really bothers me when he goes high and fast.... too squeaky.
The thing here is, at least from my view, Strato has always been the way we know it, Tolkki decides, what pleases his ear will end up to please our ears. Those few songs by Jens are simple songs that have some Tolkki elements in them, they're not really what Jens sounds like in his own music. It just doesn't fit. The very reason why Strato made it this far is because they had the good idea to have one member deciding of the material to keep it clear for the listener. To have a sound and way of writing songs you can identify. To know it's Strato. So this good old way goes on and Jörg makes a song by the Tolkki form and it gets on the album, it's gonna be just as crappy Tolkki impression as those few Jens songs are that ended up to be heard. Really doesn't matter who writes the songs, it'll all sound the same anyway. The best thing about Strato for me is and always has been that Tolkki himself can write those songs not by the "Tolkki-form" because then he knows he's responsible of it if it goes wrong. And it hasn't so far, if not including Full Moon and 030366TimoTolkki wrote:Song from Jörg. I listen to a lot of power/melodic metal. Don't think I'll be switching over anytime soon, thanks.Cristiane wrote:Than I think you should try another music style than power/melodic metal huh?:) wrote:Timo Kotipelto's voice really bothers me when he goes high and fast.... too squeaky.
I'm blonde. So what are you trying to say, HUH!?!?HvyMtlClickWitch wrote:I'd really prefer NOT to think of myself as a blonde of anything...particularly a blonde of music. The mental picture/character synopsis that comes to mind really worries me.
And since when it is up to YOU to tell what Strato should sound like, what is Strato ad what is not ?Jaakko wrote:The thing here is, at least from my view, Strato has always been the way we know it, Tolkki decides, what pleases his ear will end up to please our ears. When Tolkki chooses Jens composition for a Strato album he must be careful and choose the ones that can't go wrong. For me they all go wrong but anyway, for most I guess they're just what they wanna hear.
