So, that there's an exception. Maybe it would have looked better, if mo-ka wrote: "I like all songs, except for Zenith of Power."

Yeah. He made a mistake, and by the way "mo-ka" means "mis-take" in Finnish.
That was then a not so good coincidence.

Some things are really ironic and funny in the equipment-list of the booklet:

1 to 1 copy from the booklet :)

Timo Kotipelto uses:
Shure microphones, custom built vocal chords

Jörg Michael uses:
Meini cymbals, Premier drums, Tama Power Tower rack systems.
Vic Firth sticks. Beyerdynamic mics, Ddrum trigger systems & brains and what he buys.

Jens Johansson uses:
QB-VST5/PC and lots of everything, especially Daichi´s superb "Synth1" freeware VSTI

Jari Pedersen-Kainulainen uses:
Ibanez basses, Ampeg amps, a BOSS distortion pedal and a Crybaby wah-wah

Timo Tolkki uses:
ESP guitars, Engl amps and cabinets and his brain (sometimes)

Stratovarius uses:
Shure in-ear monitors

GODDAMN, in my little town, the (little as well) record-shop is not een able to have a CD which was released 10 days ago... I had to orer it online, it should arrive during next week (Monday if I'm lucky, if not Tuesday or Wednesday).

BTW, TT changes his amps all the time :p On Dreamspace & Episode it was Mesa Boogie, on Visions it was Marshall, on Destiny, Laney, on Infinite, Laney again and back to MB, on the Elements, Ampeg, and now Engl.

its very hard to me to say something about this, coz i a stratovarius fan since fourth dimension, BUT, i have to say that this IS the WORST of all stratovarius records, is too predictibl, and the lyrics of the songs are for me, just a re-visit, to other compositions of stratovarius, i can easily compare this, to the "load/reload" era of "metallica" i hope they back to the original roots.

Ok, this is not their best album but there's no way it can be compared to Metallica. Stratovarius is still metal and they are not following new trends nor haven't changed their attitude. This album is simplier, but it has Stratovarius' soul in it.

I second that!!
And we can indeed find some old Strato influences on this album.

Uhhh... don't get Metallica involved in this... in any case, "Load" & "ReLoad" could be compared to the Elements, and eventhough the Load era was a change from the 80's, they are still very good musical and lyrical pieces, sure, Metallica fans got upset 'cause they "sold out" (due to changing the style) but most of them never gave "Load" nor "ReLoad" a good OBJECTIVE listen.

...As a side note, I'm a Metallica fan and although my fave two albums are "Ride The Lightning" (1984) and "...And Justice For All" (1988), I still love "Load" and "ReLoad".

As for "Stratovarius", this album is different from previous efforts, but it's still Stratovarius, there's the essence, you never lose that.

In any case, I really like the album, but I just love "God's Dawn" (Götterdämmerung), it's such a powerful song both musically & lyrically... those who dislike it, try giving it a second listen, it's not an easy song to fully understand, but once you achieve that... you'll enjoy it's grandeur =).

thats true, and yet i listened to them (not a fan by the way) and i prefered ride the lightning

very strato indeed, at a first glance it is very different, but upon hearing it agian you can definetly find the influences, like SOS in Gypsi in Me, Elements in Gotterdamerung etc...

yes it is a very difficult song for the average strato fan (visions, episode, infinite and destiny), but i like, sort of an acquired taste, dont you think?!

I personally thought that Back To Madness was very Elements-and-4th Dimension-ish myself. The only thing this album really lacks is a true fast song.

But maybe they did that on purpose.

Do you mean with this Metallica or Strato? If Strato, I think you never have listened the first album Fright Night? Because they´re now closer than never before their original roots.

When TK starts singing, the song and his style to sing reminds very much from A Drop in the Ocean from Ept1. And the odd middle-part brings Dreampspace-times to my memory.

I think, that the song Gypsy in Me is quite fast, eventhough, there's no double bass in it. But this new album makes people to beg for the double bass, and that is good. We are getting thirsty.

I really like the album, but true, it lacks a really fast song, although i always loved those...
Also, i think Fight!! sounds a lot like Bubbles by System Of A Down (don't kill me for being a fan of them 8) ), could be just in my mind though.

Exactly... "acquired" is the key word =).

About the fast songs, yeah maybe one fast song could work in there but it could also break the harmony intended with these songs we have... I believe that this album is great the way it is and we'll have new speedy songs later, also we still have classics to listen to =).

Finally.. I've found the album! 18€, Limited Edition! :D

Now I must chill, grab a beer, and insert the CD in the Surround System..

I already read the booklets, and I just wanted to say this..

TT: your dedications and thanks were truly emotive and.. well, awesome. I would gladly copy them here for everyone to see, but I figure it'll be better if they see it on the booklet itself. I had never read dedications on a booklet, but these were something new. Great job. Cheers, Timo :)

that is funny, indeed, but I think that also important are things that Timo writes about his father, it looks like a reconcilination, which is also positive phenomenon for him, and I think for people, who like his work.

I cant believe that ppl dont like this album.
It's one of the bests for me. 3 albums after Destiny
sounded a little bit repetitive and tired for me.
After the incidents now they sound very fresh,
more close to the early days sound. I couldnt
wish for a better album. Definetly one of the best
Strato albums and maybe the best album of this
year. (Bruce's tyanny of souls, and Judas' Angel of
Retribution are only contestants).

I 'm so happy that (almost) the golden lineup is back
together with a very solid album.

i didnt expect to create a little disturb over here, i started saying that its hard for me to say this..... but ok...

to ICEBREAKER
of course i have listened fright night...A LOT, and for me this new album have nothing to do whit FN, TUOMO use double-bass since day one, at first place, and , those songs like, wicht-hunt (is my favourite) they really experimenting whit music man, i cant say that whit this new stuff.

there are song, like zenith of power...reminds me, very closely, to babylon, or uncertainly, i mean, that style of statovarius composing was already explored and developed in other albums, why repeat that?? thats what i find disgusting in this new record...i don know if you agree, after all if just a matter of taste.

Perkele! I bought the new album yesterday, and I was quite disappointed with the songs Götterdämerung (zenith of power) and fight. I expected that fight would have been faster. The sound of Götterdämerung was terrible. But there were good songs in the album too. Like Leave the Tribe and Just Carry On. But mostly I hope the sound would be better.
