Questions For Stratovarius
Post
by iron_thunder » Sat Sep 24, 2005 1:02 pm
Hey, I have an interview with Jens (probably Jens, anyway), at the Stratovarius show here in Toronto on Sept 25th. So you basically have ONE DAY to submit your questions! ... if you care, or can be bothered to

I have most of mine done, but I like having forum questions!
Thanks!

i wanted to know if for example tt wrote the song would jens write the keys solo and vice versa? that and are solos sort of improvised once and then go from there or do they write the scales and notes precisley?

Well, Jens said he improvized all his keys solos. But I don't Know about TT.
I'd like to know if they'd do a "Music : Kotipelto, Lyrics : Johansson" or vice versa or "Music : Kotipelto and/or Johansson, Lyrics : Tolkki" song or if TT only write lyrics for his own songs (and when TK/JJ write music, they alway write lyrics too). And what about LP and JM in the songwriting ?

1) Which is his favourite song on last album?
2) What does he think about double bass? Does he miss it in the last record? Or he thinks it's ok not to have it?
3) How does he see the band today, I mean, relationship among all the guys? Are both Timos friends again?
Those would be nice questions to ask Jens. Hope u can ask him!

I would like to know what´s his opinion about having Lauri now on the band and what he thinks about Jari´s leaving? Does Jens consider Lauri as one of the best bassists in the world, like TK has sometimes said.
Also I´d like to know how possible is nowadays that he or Kotipelto or Lauri could write some songs in the future instead of only TT writing?

How did the Guys like their stint in the South--the food, the booze, the weather, the GRITS, etc. Details, details, Please?

Can you also find out what the story is with the missing key on his instrument? It is one of those quirky things, but I am curious.

AND about signing with a bigger record company so the album could be released not only in Sweden and Japan.

I think I can actually answer this question (for once!). I believe Jens addressed it on his website some time ago. If I weren't so lazy, I'd look it up and quote it.
Anyway, there were some keys missing from one of his keyboards, so he pried them off another and then just replaced them. I think that particular keyboard is in the "Black Diamond" video as well.
I hope I'm right about that!

My questions have already been said:
How is it to have Lauri in the band, a breath of fresh air?
When will there be another solo record?

The future is bright, and there's hope in the air,
Together we're singing, together we care.

Ask if he miss the old time Strato, with songs like Visions and Destiny
lots of speed it was in that time.
And can he say something new about the future!!!
thanks!!
