I guess there's no moderator here or webmaster in weeks or months... I'd like to give you an idea that would make this forum a little better
What about a RSS service of main boards? It's so easy and helpful!

Yeah---what is that? How is that better than a Mod/Administrator?

No, it is not a replacer of any person
RSS is a service which is main used by e-news, mail lists and so on. I'll try to explain easily to non-computer-professionals: It's a way to know how the forum is without having to enter the forum. You just add a special bookmark or a RSS reader (so easy to use: www.rssreader.com for an example), and there, you put in the bookmark the XML/RSS page, so from there, without having to access the forum, you know the 10/15/20 topics that are the most recent, auto-refreshing, so you just enter the forum when there's a topic or post that you would like to read/write. In this way there's no need to enter the forum constantly to know if there are answers to your topics or to know what topics are on the top. It's very easy to implement and very useful for both admins and users.
Maybe an admin reads this and tell us if they have even thought the idea
The way to use it would be so easy, and you wouldn't even need to open the Explorer/Firefox. You would install the rss reader I wrote before, and then you would add a new bookmark, and there would be some kind of this: "http://www.stratovarius.com/forum/english/backend.php" or "http://www.stratovarius.com/... // ... / *.xml" or "...*.rss". And then automatically you would know the status of the forum, the topics on top, topics answered, read them and you would be adviced when you like. It's very easy and useful.
note: none of the links I put before exist , so don't try . If you want to try as an example and tell us about this RSS service, try this with a very famous metal page:
1) Install the reader from www.rssreader.com/download.htm
2) When installed, run the program. Add a bookmark (feed):
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... wsfeed.xml
3) You then have the information of the page quickly

I don't see what is the current problem you are trying to fix.

Maybe you should send a PM about this to Jens and ask his opinion?eternity_strato wrote:Maybe an admin reads this and tell us if they have even thought the idea
Well, that could be a nice idea which could make reading the forum easier. (If I understood right. )

Wow! Why didn't I think of that before?!? It's as clear as petroleum

I mean... There's not any problem with the forum by now, it's just a thing that could make things better and easier for both parts, admins and users

Re: Something that can help :)
I get what you're saying, but keeping track of posts on an RSS feed would be too much for me . I already have enough news crap on my "My Yahoo!" page. It's a good concept, but I guess it should be focused on more news related things like they show on the main page of Stratovarius.com rather than using it to show new posts (if that's what you're implying that is).
Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

Re: Something that can help :)
I'd throw my support behind this idea. I wouldn't mind an RSS feed of the boards at all, they are rather handy...

Re: Something that can help :)
well for example ( im not beeing agressive or something )to help we have to try not to open a new thread for everything. This Idea for example could be posted on the "ABOUT FORUM SITUATION" topic

Well, WebTv can't do a RSS feed although it sounds like a good thing. Vic might know more about this--I'll ask him about it. His PC can probably access this feed.
