What do you guys think? I think it is a good idea based on TTs observations, and philosophies. Another project to look forward to--lets encourage this idea as much as possible. I think it is a promising&worthwhile venture.

In June Tolkki said something about that rock opera in the Finnish media. He would have planned Michael Kiske and "surprise, surprise" a lady called Miss K for the leading roles. But I remember he said both weren´t sure at that time.

Btw, in the article he was typed as Tölkki, which means a can in Finnish. If someone still didn´t know that... :P

Tolkki really HATE that someone mispell his name.
The last time that someone wrote his name "Tölkki" (on the finnish board, if I rem right), he almost banned the user and treated him of persereikä !!

And yes, Tolkki is planning on doing a kind of metal opera.
I saw a ad about it in Soundi (finnish magazine), but he didn't mention his name of anything. Just "xxx@goldenworks.fi"

I'm quite interested in this rock opera? Is there going to be limited edition of the CD? :P
BTW, it's a good chance for Katriina to show, what she has. I'd like to finally hear her voice.

I'm not so sure about that.. W.A.S.P has made some rock operas (The Crimson Idol, The Neon God Pt.1 & 2) too, and i think that rock opera is just some kind of story that is told in the album :)

I might be wrong.

A rock opera means, that it's rock and it's opera. :) Hard to answer, but I think, it depends on the director/songwriter as well.

The István a Király (Stephen the King) Rock Opera is rather a rock stuff, with some musical stuff and a lot of choruses. I really like it, so this is, why I'm so much looking forward to this Tolkki project.

Intresting, but...is it a solo project or the whole band?
'cuz if it is everybody, I hope that TimoK and JJ writes stuff, not only TT.

And what is it like? A concept album?

It will be more "opera" than "rock". This will be Timo's masterpiece. It wont include other Stratovarius members.

Yeah, in the local news in June it was said too that there won´t be any other Strato-members.

well I don't think so because Edguy and Stratovarius sounds similar but the kind of music and the style is still different.

I hope it won't be a third part of Avantasia too, but I ever trust in Tolkki.

Tolkki told me that the heroine in his rock opera IS a woman and he has a few ideas for who will play her though he has not chosen yet. Also, he says it will be different from Avantasia. sounds cool! And it's about time for more female heroes in metal! HA!

Is that is in the interview? I am really looking forward to that, Clare! And, yes, the concept does indeed sound very promising. 2006 is going to be a good year for Stratovarius, it seems!

The man who wrote WARRIORS OF THE LIGHT, Paulo Coelho, has many webpages about his work. I signed up for a monthly eLetter with his writings. I like them very much. I read some last night. He seems like a very intelligent insightful author&philosopher, I am looking forward to reading more of his work. :)

Did I spell Paulo's name right? :?

I corrected it!

About TTs name: once I googled for Pics&a bunch of Cans came up. I thought "WTF?" Then, someone explained that a variant of Tolkki meant container, or can. =P I thought that was interesting! :)

I hate when someone mispell my name too. See, my name is Judith, and sometimes people write it "Judit" or"Yudit", and I hate that so much!:x
I always have to correct them...

And about the opera, I think it's gonna be great. "Warrior of Light" is a book of Paulo Coelho. And Timo really likes this book. I haven't read it, but I did read other three Coelho's books: "The Alchemist", "The Fifth Mountain" and "Veronica Decides To Die". I really recommend them  , they are books that teaches really good things, they are very spirituals...

I have the Warrior of Light (but not any of the others), and I found some good stuff and stuff I did not agree with (the author grew up in a Christian environment and it shows IMO). Regardless, Timo has some great ideas, most of which I agree with.

This will be a totally different platform for him to express those ideas, and I will love to hear how it turns out.

Btw Judith... my name is Julie, and if I had £1 for every time I got called Julia :x I would not need to work.

As i said in the Koti forum, he was following the path of Crowley in the past, how i can say? of the black arts?

He wrote a couple of lyrics with a brazilian singer called Raul Seixas and many of these lyrics says about the thoughts of aleceister crowley...i cant call him of christian.

Now...he said that dont do such things anymore...well...Raul died a long time ago, i think that he changed his thoughts totally.

My project is going to be a type of rock/metal opera. More in the style of Progressive/Power Metal. I'm doing my best to create something somewhat new and innovative while keeping my influences in the mix. The demo is taking longer than I estimated, but it will be worth the wait. The guest list may include some of the best musicians in the metal scene. I've contacted probably around 15 people who are currently waiting on the demo. It was once a dream to me, but I'm going to make it into a reality. Much hard work is awaiting me on logic these next few weeks!

I'll very much look forward to Tolkki's project and the next Strato album. Also the dvd!
