Tolkki tells he has started composing the next Strato-album
Post
by IceBreaker » Mon Aug 14, 2006 6:13 pm
Tolkki tells on his MySpace blog he is starting to write songs for the next Strato-album and has quite good idea how it´ll gonna be. Very great news IMO!
WRITING SONGS
Current mood: artistic
I have started writing songs. It took a while to gather all the equipment, but now I am done and I can let the creativity flow. May the Muse of Music be with me. First I am gonna write the songs for the next Stratovarius album. This I expect to be completed before our tour starts at the end of September. After that I am gonna fly to Germany to record drums for the demos.
I have a pretty good idea how the album will turn out.
I have also some projects happening, which I will do, as I have time.
Go ahead Timo!

Cool!
I guess there wouldn't be any chance of them trying out the new songs on us willing audiences that are going to be seeing them in the next few months?

Oh wow, they are making a new album. My brother told me that they weren't gonna do anymore, but just tour. Oh well, that still kicks major ass!
Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

Yes, although how cool this otherwise sounds, because sometimes you just cannot trust Tolkki´s statements with 100 %.

Hope the best he can compose the needed songs now...

Yeah !
Good news:)
Hope there will be more "back to the roots" with more double bass drums, and more good old Episode/Visions-sounding:)

What´s your point then? That he is not writing songs?

Yes!! I can't wait to hear the end product, go Tolkki!!

I wonder if they record the music first, then think about the lyrics, or is it the other way round?

What kind of man kills because of ideology?
What kind of god justifies violence?

I think they will take another step in the sound of the band. We have all kind of Strato sound from fright night to nowadays: dark in the beginning, mysterious some albums later, the big bang in the episode/visions saga , the powerful era from destiny / infinite , the symphonic and calmed era from elements and the reborn with 'Stratovarius'.
My bet: they will put some double bass drums in the album, but I think they will do something a little proggie.
Rock on Timo!!!!!!!!

I hope they don't use big choirs and orchestras and I also hope that new material would remind Episode's feeling (they could make another song like When the Night Meets the Day).

Some progressive elements would be great.
With a sexy double bass...

hehe, personally I believe that Tolkki is composing all the time. At least in his mind. A creative head like him never stops thinking about new songs and music.

I hope that this new album will be different but still Strato. About the double bass I'm sure they will return and will kick ass with 30Hertz.

Have a good time composing Timo!

I hope Stratovarius will be heavier than on the last album.

Stratovarius making Iron Maiden, THAT would be cool.

it would be interesting to include all the past elements. but not in an album. that is, not a song like the first albums, then a song that`s episode-like and so on. but every song to have something from each era. symphonic elements are cool to a certain extent (shame on you, Rhapsody (of fire?!!)), double bass? hell yes!, but not all the time, and everything else...you get my picture!

One fast, melodic song with double bass drums a la Stratofrotress or Holy light... that would be SEXellent!

Then it wouldn't be Stratovarius, just another Iron Maiden copy

To listen to Stratovarius we have Stratovarius, and to listen to Maiden we have Maiden, it's that simple..

i hope it's just.. still as fucking melodic as they ever were, nothing experimental like their last album, nothing too different. i want a solid release.
of course, that doesn't mean copy old songs' riffs and even solos, like i have noticed in the past, it mean new, original fresh stuff.
but solid
like episode, destiny, infinity, and the pre-TK albums

dude, Fright Night differs enourmously from TT, and Episode is in another dimension when compared to the previous albums!

I guess the time for this album debut will be in mid-2007?
Personally, I do not have a selective preference on the sounds&style. I'm sure we all will be pleased with the results!

maybe if timo could make a heavier song with some seven strings guitar? that would be cool, with koti singing like in maniac dance and jorg making his crazy double bass

Great artist should inspire themself of what they love and not of what people wants. I'm quit sure that's allways what Timo did and by the way what makes Stratovarius so good.

I agree.. Especially the songs on Elements part 1 were composed by feeling, not by what fans wanted.. -> that's why people didn't like the album..

I wish TT would get a good inspiration, so that the upcoming album would be the best so far
