Gus will DEFINATELY not reach that...for sure, he can make more variations/polyphony, but he can't sing that high

And Father time, Will the sun rise, Black Diamond...It's imposible to reach Kotipelto's range and singing live as good as Koti can.
Gus is more versatile, but he doesn't fit very well in Strato songs. I'm completely sure about it. I have listen a lot in his myspace and...no...it's a different voice.
Anyway is a GREAT vocalist.

A lot of singers out there can do that. Mark Boals is a perfect example. He also can pull this off live without a glitch.

Judas Priest ? Man... Boals has a clear voice and can get his falsetto way better than Kotipelto. Look at his operatic stuff on youtube and tell me he can't pull those songs off.

The problem is that I don't find any voice like Kotipelto's voice. I have listen so many metal vocalists, and Kotipelto is perfect for power metal.

Mark Boals has an impressive vocal range, he is doing great job in Royal Hunt as you can see on crowd-videos at youtube. He can fit his vocals very well to any heavy metal song. Koti has not such a wide range, but his voice is unique. He also can make it go high and low and say a lot in a whisper. Can't describe it with words... color, temperature, in english even is more complicated for me, but I find Timo's voice quite different from any other vocalist. He has an amazing vocal system which integrates vocalchords-throat-mind and soul.
For me it's impossible to compare singers. Even it would be interesting to switch, I understand nobody could sing 'Key to the universe' better than Kiske, 'Destiny' better than Kotipelto, 'You don't remember...' better than Mark Boals, 'Symphony of destruction' better than Mustaine, and so...

Well, you are right. Tolkki said the same in RR forum, but we don't have any other songs by Gus to compare...

True, that song is certainly not an impressive performance. But Mustaine does the whole pissed-off/menacing thing pretty well.

Blaze Bayley does that better.

Don't compare Gus to Kotipelto. In my opinion Kotipelto is one of greatest power metal vocalists ever. He and Gus are different vocalists, but I like them both. It's a same than comparing Anette Olzon to Tarja Turunen. They both are great vocalists, but so different. So stop comparing now.
