Concerning the RR demo

Post by Ahlimatainen » Mon Jul 14, 2008 1:41 am

So I wanted to hear some the RR demos so I searched on youtube, and found what I was looking for.

However what I DID NOT FIND was any keyboard solos. And I kept searching, listening to more songs, reading comments about Kolti and Sammet and whatever but not one that noted the absence of what to me is one of THE MOST ESSENTIAL parts of the stratosound, Jens Johanssons trademark solos

I think that not having Jens' soloing is like throwing away a big part of the musical integrity. But hey, maybe that's just me.

Nice to meet you Joonas. You did a great work in New Era album. Nice name for someone from El Salvador.

I thought that the RR demo was suppose to have the Stratovarius line up since they recorded it before the split up :?

*edit* And still, there are no keyboard solos?

They left Jens out after the world tour since I completely impressed Tolkki after a 30 secs audition when they came to El Salvador, he said:
Timo Tolkki wrote: This guy has more talent than 3 Jens Johanssons together... AND an Ingwie Malmsteen...

But I didn't have enough money for the flight so they left the incredibly good solos (Made by myself with classical and jazz music influences) out...

They paid me anyways.

Surely I can't believe the Tolkki spelled "Ingwie" wrong

Well, if he put it in those words I suppose you have A LOT to live up to. And I don't really care much for the not so humble way of expressing himself  ... I mean Jens Johansson as an instrumentalist is one of THE most influential in the rock genre.

I don't really know how to respond to that statement without "Tolkki-bashing", but it might well be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read.

 I agree. I cannot believe Tolkki said that! Not after all the years that he&Jens played music together, and were friends. I don't know tech stuff about keyboard&keyboardists, but my ears tell me that Jens is one of the best, and probably many people will agree.

@AGAG, where did you get that Timo Tolkki quote? On the RR Forum, or someplace here? ??? Or did you make it up? :? ???
Yeah, thats confusing&a potentially volatile statement. :?

It has to be a joke from where ever it’s from since it's not logically impossible to be three times better than someone that can play whatever the hell they want with the limitations being finger number and hand length, since there are some players out there with abnormalities.

Notice the "( :) )" at the end of my post, I was joking...
Remember that the internet is the place where a lot of suckers (Myself included) can write whatever they want, all you can do is laugh at them :D

(But I surely impressed Tolkki)

Yes, but how do you know I'm not beethoven himself??
(By the way, my fingers are 13 inches long)

Banana fingers. Now we can get Beethoven together with count Rugen and have a nice little keyboard duel. We can even have Inigo Montoya shout "my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!!" the whole time. To even it up we can have the ancient booer scream at Beethoven

she'll write a book for that, I'd say it'd better be a trilogy, if she wants to be methodic and precise... :?

No I'm not

And to be honest if I was going to join the trend of impersonating people that you don't know I would probably go with someone else
