Question about a Stratovarius song
I was listening to "I walk to my own song" the other day and then I took a glance at the lyrics in the cover booklet.
Now in the booklet to the cd I have it says in the chorus "high I fly, I touch the sky, far above the frozen minds"
However in the song it really sounds like Kotipelto is saying "high I fly, I touch the sky, far above the frozen hearts"
Now am I hearing this wrong? or is it possible my copy of the cd had a misprint in the lyrics?

It sounds a lot like "hearts" to me as well. It could be that the lyrics changed, but the booklets had already been created (or the guys responsible for the creation of the booklet simply weren't notified).

Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
I love that song and live its philosophy. Its message is clear and meaningful. One of Strato's best in terms of lyrical content and message.

Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
Hmm, I rarely read lyrics, but probably should since I never hear things right. I always hear "hearts" in that song.hiro23 wrote:I was listening to "I walk to my own song" the other day and then I took a glance at the lyrics in the cover booklet.

Here's a stupid thing I hear in "Fight" from the last album. In the lyrics booklet from the CD it says the lyrics are "Climbing Mountains. Pictures on my back" All the websites for lyrics say it should be, "Climbing mountains. Big stone on my back," which makes sense, but for the life of me, I don't hear that. Sounds like "Climbing mountain, pigs get off on crack." Yea, I always knew that wasn't it, but that's what I HEAR.

Of all the spiritual visions Timo Tolkki has had, inebriated fornicating livestock was not among them.Sounds like "Climbing mountain, pigs get off on crack." Yea, I always knew that wasn't it, but that's what I HEAR.
Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
i think we have a great twisted tune going on hear. finish it and send it into bob rivars and maybe they can get some usa time.
Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
for me "I walk to my own song" was the only song I heard something different then what was on the lyrics.
I'm just wondering if maybe it was a last minute change.

Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
I hear "hearts " as well.
I makes me think...in the song Burning Eyes, from The Last Viking (Johansson), everytime Edman sings "tried to move the mountain", I hear "try to move the muffin", which is very distracting

Lyrics in booklets (any band) differ sometimes from the album itself.
P.S. If I remember it right, I can hear "hearts" as well

Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
He does sing Hearts, dunno why though, whateverway it sounds better that way.
Btw, in Fight I hear "peak stone on my path" or something like that, I have't listened to that song for like a year.

Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
on fight I can hear "big stone on my back" he just says big with an accent.
However on "I walk to my on song" there is no fooling the ear in this case, he clearly says "hearts" when in the book it says "minds"
not that I'm complaining cause I think "hearts" works better then "minds", I was just simply wondering if it was a misprint or a last minute change.
Maybe Tolkki had written the lyrics that way but Kotipelto felt the chorus would be more powerful with the addition of "hearts" instead of "minds"?

Re: Question about a Stratovarius song
Agree that say "frozen hearts" I found other mistakes in some songs or maybe I am bad of the hearing so much to walk listening to music with my mp3 all day if it is like that, I am sorry, but I can affirm that there are other mistakes, maybe on having penetrated them to the texthiro23 wrote:I was listening to "I walk to my own song" the other day and then I took a glance at the lyrics in the cover booklet.

This is no mistake. You can find such things on other Strato songs, too, and of course of other bands. Booklets are printed before the final recordings, the singer changes one or two words.... So what?

Stratohawk this isn't an attack on the song I was just curious about the whole thing is all.
it was simply just what it was, a question about the song
