Hah. Good look finding bands which don't use synthetizers and samples in live performances.
I honestly think those "tape effects" enhance live performances. But whatever...
Regarding Stratovarius playing old songs, I'd love to hear some of those, but not many. Those were great songs, but nothing matches the quality of the "golden era".

This is just very, very stupid. Do you know how many bands use effects from the tape? I'm sure some of your favourite fans use it too. There is nothing bad about it. I remember the Rage tour of 2006. They recorded the 27 minute "Suite Lingua Mortis" with an Orchestra. They wanted to play it live. But they didn't have the money to tour with the Orchestra. So the Orchestra came from "tape". And they released a DVD of that tour. It sounded great. So what you say is very, very stupid.

Yeah. There is nothing wrong with using the tape for Intros and such stuff. It isn't cheating. It is necessary sometimes. I think Stratovarius also does this with Hunting High and Low. The first part of the intro comes from the tape and then the band starts to play.

For those that don't know here's the line ups that Stratovarius has had since they started making albums, I could go further back but I'm too lazy
Fright night line up:
Timo Tolkki:Guitars and vocals
Jyrki Lentonen:Bass
Tuomo Lassila:Drums
Antti Ikonen:Keyboards
Twilight Time line up:
Timo Tolkki:Guitars,studio bass and vocals
Jari Behm:Bass
Tuomo Lassila:Drums
Antti Ikonen:Keyboards
Dreamspace line up:
Timo Tolkki:Guitars and vocals
Jari Kainulainen:Bass
Tuomo Lassila:Drums
Antti Ikonen:Keyboards
Fourth Dimension line up:
Timo Kotipelto:Vocals
Timo Tolkki:Guitars
Jari Kainulainen:Bass
Tuomo Lassila:Drums
Antti Ikonen:Keyboards
Episode,Visions,Destiny,Infinite,Elements and Self Titled line up:
Timo Kotipelto:Vocals
Timo Tolkki:Guitars
Jari Kainulainen:Bass
Jorg Micheal:Drums
Jens Johansson:Keyboards
Polaris line up:
Timo Kotipelto:Vocals
Matias Kupiainen:Guitars
Lauri Porra:Bass
Jorg Micheal:Drums
Jens Johansson:Keyboards
Hopefully that helps out
As far as the live topic goes I believe I said this before in the RR forum but I would like a mild sprinkling of all era's in the live set, basically a little of everything.

Yea and Iron Maiden with Aces High. But back to Stratovarius, yes I would love to hear Break The Ice, I think it would sound awesome with TK.

No need to start throwing insults.
Anyway, I never said there was anything morally wrong with it, I just don't think it would be as fun using recordings at a live show. Improvise. do something unexpected. Make it an entirely different song, an entirely different experience than what we've heard before. Otherwise I don't see any point in going to a live show when you could get a better-quality version of the actual song just by listening to the album. Which is just my opinion, nothing more.

Actually, Jari Behm was not on Twilight Time, just the Twilight Time tour,
and Tuomo Lassila wasn't on Dreamspace.

I feel so ashamed. -_-
Kotipelto replaced Tolkki on vocals that long ago and I never even noticed a change.

The information I've gathered is accurate as according to the albums. As I said I was too lazy to put all the mild details in that list.
Either way it was only for those who aren't familiar with the Stratovarius time line.
Ragehead is right as well, Tuomo was on Dreamspace there was only a few songs they had to get a session musician for as Tuomo had gotten an injury, and yes I do realize that Jari Behm did not tour with them for Twilight time however once again I was just being lazy.
