What a great night !!!
Caught the last two songs by Edens Curse , sounded good but looked a mess !
Then Firewind , what can I say ? Inspired choice for support ! Seen them before and they just get better every time. Awesome set , with the highlight being a cover of Maniac from Flashdance , but rocked up !! Petros the bass player was dancing around , very funny !!
What can you say about , Stratovarius that you don't already know ? Excellent band , great musicianship , set list content the same as Wolverhampton , but jumbled around !! Timo was full of a cold so did brilliantly considering , you could hardly tell !! Lauri's Bass solo was immense , the gu has soooooo much talent !! His style reminds me of Cliff Burton of Metallica !!!
I had a great night , thanks to the band and Twisted Talent Management !!!
The meet and greet afterwards was a bit surreal....Got to meet Mark Cross and Bob Katsionis of Firewind while waiting , which was a bonus !!
Then we were led backstage to meet the band who were all ready to move on when given the call !! Got my new Polaris CD signed , couldn't really take photo's as it was too dark !! They decided to put us in the "quiet" area at the side of the Stealth Club Night which had just started.
Had a long chat with Lauri , who on the night was the most amiable !! He's a very funny person and not too shabby a bass player either , haha.
Matias was a bit shy with all the attention , I think but he is a great addition to the band , a cool relaxed style !!
Timo was suffering with the cold and was exhausted and could have done without this meet n greet ! Jorg and Jens were also a bit quiet with me , but they all seemed nice enough !!
Had a beer from the rider (it went down well!!). Then Pizza arrived and the band were whisked away , I assume to the Tour Bus !! Away from the prying eyes of the young kids from the Club Night who wanted free Beer ??
All in all a great night , not to be missed !! Hope the rest of the ticket winners have as good a time as I did !!!
