Re: European Tour!!!
They played Father time in Amsterdam in stead of Forever.Like Sylvana said very good light show again they were in a fine form and really enjoyed being on stage. It's a shame the turn out was not to big just like in Antwerp only about 400 people,i don't know that it's the weather or that they tour with an support acht that are not really known in Holland and Belgium. On their last tours they had Rhapsody,SymphonyX,and Hammerfall on the bill and those band have a massive fanbase in Europe. But anyway the shows were great and we where there to support them;-) I made some nice footage and post it on youtube this weekend and for Rikkertje i did 2 new songs cuz he wants to hear the new stuff as he couldn't make it to the show .....
Re: European Tour!!!
Thanks!!! It really sucks that we couldn't make it. But the weather was just too bad.stratowerner wrote:They played Father time in Amsterdam in stead of Forever.Like Sylvana said very good light show again they were in a fine form and really enjoyed being on stage. Really cool that you filmed it. Could you post the links in this thread when the video's are online?
Re: European Tour!!!
Yeah, I think turnout was lower than expected due to the travel chaos caused by the weather. Everything seems ok here today, so I'll hopefully make it there alright! Anyone else going to the London show tonight?

I really hope they'll play "Forever" in Belgrade, 'cause I would really like to hear that song. It's beautiful. :luv1:
But would be cool to add "Father Time", too.

I think I saw stratowerner's video's fron Amsterdam on YouTube. Nice clips!:)
It's nice to see that the band plays very good! Better than last year. TK is still having trouble with the high notes though. Ah well, thanks for the vids!!!

Re: European Tour!!!
They played both Forever and Father Time last night.
Awesome show, guys are in great form! I was right at the front in the middle. The only slight downer of the evening was a huge drunk guy crushing me against the barrier and spilling beer on my head throughout the latter part of the set but that's what rock&roll is about, it would seem.
Our friends Mystic Prophecy took the venue by storm and converted many new fans to their cause last night... outstanding stuff and I got to hang out with them before and after the show, was great to catch up.
Tracedawn were very impressive, tight and technical as hell and very professional, exceptional at their age!
I had a good evening out, you can say

Amsterdam show
Damn, it had been too long ago for me since I last saw these guys. I was a bit surprised to see 2 bands open up for Stratovarius. I just overlooked this in the announcement I guess. Oh well, I'm never too old to learn about 'new' bands. Even though they were not really my cup of tea, they were both very tightplaying acts. Too bad the setlist was a bit short due to the 3 band line-up.
It was great hearing the great JJ improvising over Bach's 'Air'. But I did miss his openingsrun in 'deep unknown'... Or was that just me?
I had also hoped for a bigger audience, but I can understand that weather conditions played some role in this. I hope for more visitors in the next venues.
Anyway, it was quite a good concert and I hope to see them again soon. Enjoy the the tour guys!

Re: European Tour!!!
I am really looking forward to the Budapest show. But I don't dare to check these topics... always finding spoilers of setlists. >_<

Well you allready know their setlist even before you've seen it. It has been almost the same for about 4 years now.

Re: European Tour!!!
That not true, they played some songs they didn't play for a while like Destiny,Twilight, the new songs, and it's been some years that they played a club show in Holland.I guess you missed nothing cuz in your opinion it's always the same anywayrikkertje wrote:Well you allready know their setlist even before you've seen it. Re: European Tour!!!
Yeah ok. But you can sort of be sure that Hunting High and Low, Black Diamond, Eagleheart, Speed Of Light, The Kiss of Judas and Forever will be on the setlist.stratowerner wrote:That not true, they played some songs they didn't play for a while like Destiny,Twilight, the new songs, and it's been some years that they played a club show in Holland.I guess you missed nothing cuz in your opinion it's always the same anywayrikkertje wrote:Well you allready know their setlist even before you've seen it. And also since 2007 there is A Million Lightyears Away and Phoenix.
But I sure as hell missed something. I don't care what the guys play. A show is always cool!
Re: European Tour!!!
I went to the show in London and I was amazed by the 2 opening acts, they were awesome and a perfect warm up for Stratovarius!
It was an awesome second time seeing Strat, good sound, great atmosphere, awesome setlist.
And I met Timo and Lauri after the show and got a photo was awesome speaking to them too

Re: European Tour!!!
Nice to have Destiny opening the set, i have always loved the way how that intro builds up the excitement and THEN.... Just headbanging your ass off.
Will My Soul Ever... is an interesting song in that setlist, that song could be replaced with many other songs too, but i guess this is an old conversation about setlists etc
Still, my Top-5 wishes for upcoming european (and Finnish gigs ):
Paradise
Season Of Change
S.O.S (Replacement for Eagleheart, i mean c'mon!)
4000 Rainy Nights (This should be always played, replace Will My Soul Ever... with this)
Cold Winter Nights (Why not? Its winter in the northern europe anyway )
New clips from Amsterdam sounded great, i think Koti's voice (+the whole band) is getting better when the tour goes on,
Any news about those Finnish gigs btw? Are they going to announce those in a month or so?

Re: European Tour!!!
I agree, we definitly need Paradise, 4000 Rainy Nights, Coming Home, and I'd love hearing live Leave The Tribe, I walk to my own song, 030366, Before the Winter, Forever Is Today, United, Anthem of the World, Uncertainty, Babylon, Will the sun rise?...
But I love the fact that they play Twilight Symphony live!!!

Here they did the same. When the intro chorus began, we all went crazy. Guess that's shocking and surprising, but damn cool!stratowerner wrote:That was the opening track,i didn't expect that...Strato92 wrote:In Antwerp Destiny was in the beginning of the concert???
