First Stratovarius song
Post
by kLauRi » Wed Apr 20, 2011 8:10 pm
Hey guys! Just for fun, what was the first Stratovarius song you ever heard?
For me it was I walk to my own song, back when I was like 10 years old... Second one was Black Diamond, of course

Black Diamond
I was browsing in Sonata Arctica's page on Tony's favorite bands, and there was a name... "Stratovarius" Funny, because it's usually the other way arround.
Anyway, I went to YouTube, searched "Stratovarius" and Black Diamond was there. It's funny... because I thought Jens and T.K. were the same person... singer and keys... I didn't even see the video well, or I would have noticed, but I was hooked to the music. I also thought T.K. was the mastermind of the band... then when I realize how many things I had wrong, I was like...

at myself.
No need to feel so afraid, colors last a lifetime and fade to gray...

What happened to me was, some internet girl told me she went to see Sonata at a power metal fest somewhere and the tickets cost 80 bucks. I thought, hmm must be a good band! Downloaded the Wolf & Raven video from Soulseek, this was 2003 or something, then bought the cd and read in the liner notes about Strato I think, downloaded one track and the rest is history.

The very first song must have been either of the singles from Episode played in local chart program, but Black Diamond is the one that made me get to know Strato better.

Phoenix after I did cocaine for the first time in a dark alley. Two birds in a line I guess.

Some kid in my school played me Father Time and it blew me away. Was about 16 at the time.

Destiny.

It was 97 or 98 and I was on 3rd or 4th grade when the guys on my class (that used to beat me up and call me a fag) played Black Diamond and later Legions at a music class and I was blown away.

found out about Strato through Children of Bodom. I think Alexi mentioned Visions as one of his favorite albums and Janne said one of his favorite songs was paradise (both claims circa 2000ish). I downloaded a bunch of songs from Strato and the rest is history

Getting there!

I heard Against the Wind in about 1999, and my oldest son went a few days later and ordered a copy of The Fourth Dimension. The rest is history!

My first song was "Playing With Fire".
I really liked the solo part. The second one was Cold Winter Nights.

) and luckily I found it, Fourth dimension! that was back in 1997-8. im not quite sure.

Yes! It was nice. As a local saying goes, the way inside a salvadorean's heart is fresh apple pie.
Hope everything went right on Peru!
