Well, all we have to go on is the setlist for now. Not much else to discuss 'till then.

The Black Diamond video sounds great. I always thought the 2005 Wacken video was their best performance of the song, mainly because of Timo's voice, but this is the first time I think this one could be better, and this time because of the guitar playing. I LOVE the way Matias plays that solo.
No need to feel so afraid, colors last a lifetime and fade to gray...

I agree, Matias is freaking awesome with those solo's.

I can wait for the U.S. release date; it would probably take me that long to save up the money anyway, with all the bills I have right now.
Kiitos, Victor!

My DVD just arrived!!! Is there any better way to celebrate a free day? I'm gonna pour some coffee, plug in the good speakers and then...
Ahhh good times, festival-weekend ahead and a DVD to spend the free days before with
Edit:
Don't want to spoil it for all of you who don't have it yet, so don't read along if you don't want to hear anything about it yet! But just gotta say here that it's fucking amazing! Great show, great sound and mix especially with the keys, great mood and energy on stage, great - no, unbelievable - performance from Timo with Father Time, great small funny moments like Lauri ordering another beer, great crowd, great setlist, nearly started crying when they started Coming Home <3 Nothing more to add, except to say that I enjoyed every single minute! Terrible how even the DVD manages to make me shout and sing along and jump about at home And nice to have Mr. half-naked Lauri playing in my sitting room, hrm. It's really great that I can watch this awesome lineup now over and over again and as loud as I want So, thank you very very much to all of you for making this come true
Btw can't say anything about the 5.1 content or the Elysium bonus cause I didn't receive my bluray yet and don't have a 5.1 system anyway Documentary is what one would expect with covering such a long (hi)story in 30 minutes, but still some rareish and/or funny scenes to be seen there, so I like it as well!

Disc and DVD arrived few hours ago. I'm just listening the cd. The sound is absolutely perfect! I'm going to watch the dvd later today.
Re: Under Flaming Winter Skies: Live in Tampere on June 29, 2012
Also got my CD and DVD version today, but since I consider myself a collector they went straight to shelf in their plastics.
But hey... I was there when they recorded it

^ I noticed a few "familiar" faces in the crowd, some fan fellows posting on the facebook sites and such... don't you want to come out with which of the front row faces is yours?
Gotta admit it hurt a bit watching and knowing that if they had announced the shoot just one week earlier, I'd have been able to include Tampere into my Oulu/Helsinki trip as well...

Got mine today from Anttila 17,95€. Later on, some redwine and... OH YES!
Re: Under Flaming Winter Skies: Live in Tampere on June 29, 2012
Timo's story about Jens doing piss walking was hilarious. I can imagine that. Bonus content was very good indeed, but maybe a little too short.
Re: Under Flaming Winter Skies: Live in Tampere on June 29, 2012
why cd version doesn't contain "Intro"?
Re: Under Flaming Winter Skies: Live in Tampere on June 29, 2012
I want to give this thing a try cause it sounds cool. Is there a 2CD + DVD set available or do I have to buy DVD and CD's apart?

Yes, and he started a Piss-walking page on Facebook--and I'll have you know I was the first one to visit it!Skyggeboy wrote:Timo's story about Jens doing piss walking was hilarious. I can imagine that. Bonus content was very good indeed, but maybe a little too short.

No set available so you do have to buy them apart. Guess it's because there's also BluRay version so it was easier to publish them all separated.rikkertje wrote:I want to give this thing a try cause it sounds cool. Is there a 2CD + DVD set available or do I have to buy DVD and CD's apart?

The Japan edition is a 2CD+DVD set, but it's quite expensive.rikkertje wrote:Thanks! I'll buy them all apart then.

Money isn't the problem for me. I just want it as soon as possible. Re: Under Flaming Winter Skies: Live in Tampere on June 29, 2012
Watched it on Saturday evening. Had to crawl through their whole discography before watching and I started on Tuesday (last week) and finished Saturday evening.
Lauri's bass solo was simply mindblowing. It was not just a concert (a band playing some songs in a row) it was a show. It entertained and the energy and musicianship was simply amazing.
The first few songs sounded like the vocals were drowned below the playing but things started getting better as things moved forward. TK's performance was really good and I think his mid-range is better than ever. The few high notes he makes are succesful but lack a bit of power. Overall his performance was really good and especially his showmanship was excellent. He kept taking things forward and leading the show and energizing the audience very well.
The invisible drumkit was also as good as ever. unfortunately there was no drum solo.
Even though a lot of people complained about the setlist now that I have seen the show I can say it was a good set. (I am only wondering why they didn't play Eternity if it indeed is Jörg's favorite song) The classic songs have evolved and taken a new perfect form through years of performing. For example Legions was really good. The way Jens backed up the opening riff was reallt nice. I am just wondering who made the mistake with the back-cover. It says Legions of the Twillight (Yes with twilight spelled with 2 Ls and in reality the songs is called just Legions)
Also the subtitles seemed a bit rushed and had a bunch of mistakes.
Overall this is one of the best Live-DvDs I have ever seen (if not the best). I just hope we don't have to wait for the next one quite as long as we waited for this one. Recording another DvD on the next tour with Rolf and changing the setlist to be based on the three newest albums (Polaris, Elysium, TBA) would be a really good idea. 1-2 hour long dockumentary and all of Lauri's in progress videos would be nice as a bonus DvD.
