Everyone is allowed to have their opinion, at least he's presenting it in a nice way, he could have said "this album blows and all you people are idiots for listening to it"

That is what I am talking about! As long as you like it everything is fine! But god forbid you don't like it! Your opinion will get picked to pieces!

Well I am not saying that I didn't like the album only that it isn't among the best ones imo. And about my opinion getting picked to pieces, well it's kinda what's always going on in forums don't u think?

Overkill:it's cool, well at least with me, however I do understand we have two extremes at work, the party that thinks you should absolutely hate the album and the guys for making it and the party that thinks you should worship the album. I appreciate your being honest without being insulting :D

2 words: great album!

Has anyone here heard the Stratovarius RR demos? Wait a minute, sounds like an idea for a different thread. Don't respond to the latter statement here. 8)

Only heard it the once so far but if all power metal albums were this good on first listen then I think I may just make power metal my favourite metal genre again! Loved it from start to finish. I thought it was so fresh and full of exciting different sounds, Jens with some classics and Jorg seems to have picked up a few new tricks. Just loving it, must go give it another listen now. :D
Folk metal rules! And black metal, and death metal, and viking metal, and tech-death metal, and thrash metal, and speed metal, and power metal, and neoclassical metal, and symphonic metal, and prog metal, and doom metal, and goth metal, and symphonic prog metal, and heavy metal, symphonic epic hollywood metal, and true metal, and sheet metal, and metal metal,

I'm still waiting for ballywood metal, (indian hollywood metal) and neo-progressive scuba diver metal to be invented.

ah, I just really like metal!!

oh yeah, and polaris rules.

Well, a personal opinion very far from being objective.
It's clear whom his attacks are aimed at, it seems it is the only purpose of this review. I am pretty shocked because after having read the whole review I didn't expect an EIGHT!? How comes it? I don't see any coherence!

I actually agree about the part concerning Kotipeltos vocals.

It is Tero's opinion and I respect, but I can't see any coherence. If you read the review, you can never expect an eight...

And it seems that there are some things that he wants to make clear: Kotipelto sounds horrible, this is not stratovarius and TT would have never tolerated some things.

I agree with the part where he says this is not like the old Stratovarius (well, some songs like Forever is today, Blind or Winter skies, are like the old Stratovarius style imo) and that TT is the best composer, but I disagree with many other things he says.

I think we have a great new band (or new stratovarius, or whatever), of course it's not like with Timo Tolkki. It's a completely different band to me, but I really love it! The talent of these guys is amazing. And Polaris sounds awesome in my opinion. Of course very different, but good lyrics and really cool music performance from each member.

Can't wait to see them here in Toronto!

Cheers to Polaris.

P.S. And reviews are points of view, so even if it's a different opinion compared with mine, I respect it. :)

The only minus in a beautiful ballad is that it sounds like Kotipelto sings "Now I am shitting by your grave and I sing this song for you"...not very romantic.
That would be one of the best lines ever had they wrote it that way.

"For instance there are few parts in the album where his pronunciation is quite bad and those would have never gone through with Tolkki."

Hi people! I am new here but I've been reading all the posts since...well.. I don't know. But when I read Tero Tolkki's rewiew, I thought that I have to give my opinion. I agree with him in some things and disagree in so many others.
He says that Kotipelto sounds horrible. (I'm studying English Phonetics, BTW) I want to hear him singing in English. I've been listening to Kotipelto's every single word in Polaris and in the other CD's and he has some troubles with some sounds because of his accent. Timo Tolkki has troubles too and it is normal. I have troubles too and english phonetics is a very complicated issue.
By the way: Timo is trying to sing " Seeding" which is gardening. (So, the image of Timo planting the girl's grave is really funny)
The mark that Tero gives to Polaris is opposed to what he says in his rewiew which is hilarious.
Yes, It's not the old stratovarius: It is the new one, a fresh and positive one. I love all the songs. Of course, I miss Tolkki. But I like the sound that I hear from the guys and the new things that Lauri and Matias are bringing to us.
Of course, the guy is Tero Tolkki: So, what more can we expect from him?

Greetings from Buenos Aires!

Sitting is a rest position supported by the buttocks or thighs where the torso is more or less upright. There are several ways for humans to sit.

its sitting
