I have to say that the sample sounds awesome. Yes it sounds same as some Kotipelto's solo projects but that's no way a bad thing. If the quality of Polaris will be as good as TK's Serenity I'll be more than happy. I'm quite sure that Polaris wont let me down ;)

But think: Timo only co-wrote 3 songs. So I am sure that the album won't sound entirely like Kotipelto. But yes, you can hear that Kotipelto wrote it.

Waiting For The Dawn 7/10
Coldness 5/10
Serenity 6/10
Classical Variations & Themes 4/10
Hymn To Life 7/10

I haven't really heard any solo-albums by Jens, but I think all the members should('ve) just stick to what they do best; Stratovarius. :P
WFTD had some really catchy 80's tunes and even though Hymn To Life is mostly lame, I really loved two songs in it, Key To The Universe and the title track. But that might be just because I'm huge fan of Michael Kiske and movie The Great Dictator (speech at the end of Hymn To Life).

Yes, I think it's better that there are more than one writer in the band. And yes I know that Tolkki wroted allmost every strato song but still, I think it's more than fair to give chance to the others :) Because we all know that Kotipelto is not the only one capable to write good songs in Stratovarius.
I hope you got my point. English is not my primary language so this is kinda hard :?

I'm wondering why nobody else has the courage to upload the whole song on YouTube, if it can be found on the latest CD of the french RockHard (?) magazine..

I have a little theori here.I think people have great respect for the guys in Strato now and will not make them sorry by stealing their record. We all know what they have been through...

Sorry, but we're living in 2009! This whole album will leak anyway. And there is nothing that anybody can do about it. So why delay the unavoidable?

I hope it leaks and the leak leads to more people buying and becoming fans than if it was not leaked. There we go for optimism.

:( The recordsell has gone down 75% so you have to be VERY optimistic to believe in the positive effect of downloading...

I think I'm gonna jump on the wagon (for the ones I have)...

Dreamspace - 5/10
Fourth Dimension - 7/10
Episode - 8/10
Visions - 10/10
Destiny - 9/10
Infinite - 9/10
Elements 1 - 10/10
Elements 2 - 9/10
S/T - 1/10

Waiting for the dawn - 8/10 (good stuff but i think a few of the last songs are meh)
Coldness - 7/10 (Romeo's and Janne's solos are great)
Serenity - 7/10

Classical Variations and themes - 7/10
Hymn to life - 10/10
Saana - 5/10 (it's cool for studying and stuff but just not my cup of tea)
New Era - 9/10

Ten Seasons - 9/10 (for what style it is, it's brilliant)
Last Viking - 8/10
Heavy Machinery - 10/10
Fission - 10/10
E - 9/10 (I know not really a Jens record, but he did enough. I love the "dry" production on this one without guitars!)

Personally I like all the Strato stuff and the solo albums each member has come out with, I believe they are all very talented writers and it obviously shines through on Polaris.

I'm guessing that this is exactly the closed minded attitude of metal heads that would make someone like Kiske or Tolkki dislike metal. People that think this album is gay don't know the benefit of expressing themselves. Tolkki doesn't let anyone's negative attitude dicate his behavior. The album is very real and comes straight from the heart; it almost seems threaputic to do such an album and I feel it gives further insight into his personality, life and beliefs.

Don't worry though M, I'm not trying to insult you. I once thought music like this was "gay" too. Now that I'm more comfortable with my emotions and expressing myself, I realize I'm a fan of music in general with a bias towards metal. Hopefully you'll be able to appreciate this kind of music with a personal and spiritual touch one day too.

P.S. Lauri - I saw your CD in Japan while I was there but it was sooooo expensive (like $35) and I had to budget! I have every intent of buying it when I see it again!
