Seriously, if your a fan of the band you will love their material, because fan being short for fanatic means you just simply love that band.

if you happen to love some albums and hate others in my opinion you are someone who likes a few albums from that band but you are not a fan of that band.

OK, I understand the point the 2 of you are giving. I consider myself a huge Strato fan, in fact I have to admit that even the self-titled has some songs I enjoy listening too. Don't get me wrong, I understand your point when we're talking about a band you are crazy about. My comment was ment to be focused on bands you don't know or you're not a big fan of; for example one purchase I'll always regreat was Metallica's "Load", and I only did that because I was a huge follower of their music until the self-titled came out. After that I thought "Well, this isn't what I expected but it sounded good; maybe their next album will sound the same too", and I went blind to buy their next work...You can't imagine my face when I fully heard the CD - even nowadays, the album is getting dusty for the lack of plays it has. And no, I ain't the best Metallica's fan but I loved their music until one point of their history. If I had the chance to test that CD, believe me I'd have never spent that amount of money for such an awful album

I also think its a pretty strong album.
It is often criticized because Tolkki has publicly slagged it...probably because he associates that period of his life with negativity and stress. I can understand that, but fans must learn to think for themselves...

That could be one of the reasons why I tend to like some albums that others don't because the way I listen to music is by finding out if I like what I hear.

I don't go in expecting a certain kind of sound, I listen to it and see if I like what I hear, regardless of the band that is playing.

That happened to me too many times, but concerning Stratovarius you kind of "expect" and predict how their work is going to be. The self-titled, I ain't denying it, was original and totally different from what we're used to, and I do like some songs like "Fight", "Just Carry On" and "Gypsy In Me"...But I still have that feeling that makes me feel I'm not actually liestning to them

Well, I always liked the Infinite Era videos: Both "HHAL" and "Million Lightyears Away". But so far I'm not that big fan of musical videos, it's up to them I think

I tend to like video's like that, like I said the maniac dance video I thought just didn't work at all.

Either show the band at their funniest moments or have a video that ties into the concept of the song.

I say this because STRATOVARIUS IS MY FAVORITE BAND really!! and i feel bad when i try to get more fans of them by showing the videos to other people (friends) and the most of the people just stare at the screen like "WTF how much bucks did this video cost?" and that's not good they make fun of me later on.

I think stratovarius reached the peak of its evolution with Elements Pt. 1. Maniac dance and self titled album was not done right at all, but it at least it was not like Deep Unknown, which is a joke.
