The song is uninspired overall. But then you have Fields of Avalon and Come by the Hills, which are the samples we have listened to. Neither of those comes to offer anything new, in my humble opinion. The first with those verses we've also heard a THOUSAND times and it's Avantasia's "Shelter From the Rain" esque chorus that makes me think Matos really liked to perform that song with Sammet during the Avantasia tour back in 2008. Come by the hills sounds chessy, EXTREMELY cheesy and weak. Many could be excited about the sound of Fields of Avalon, but the fact that a song is fast and catchy does not make it good and innovative.

Let's wait... but so far, I don't see how this album could top Elysium.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I think I'll pass... but, waiting for the rest of the album... to give it a second chance!

yeah is a mix between RR and Vision songs, but your are right some other samples sound better......

Matos' voice isn't weird or anything, just plain simply bad.

The song is overextended and "repeating over and over again". almost ten minutes? 5 or 6, please, and stop the repeating shit.

This album will have nothing to do if you compare it to Elysium. Elysium is a masterpiece.

I really liked the new Symfonia song. There were many moments that reminded me of Tolkki's earlier music:

The intro - sounds like Revolution Renaissance chorus, or the beginning of infinity

1:00 - "Frozen Winter Heart"

3:40-4:00 - Intro to "Cold Winter Night"

5:00-6:00 - Sounds like those african children in the late-night infomercials

6:30-7:30 - Reminds me of the softer moments at the end of "Destiny"

8:26-8:28 - New instant message

Overall, the song has a great atmosphere, and I was very impressed. Most importantly, Matos sounds fantastic. :funhi:

Of course, its not very original. But neither is Elysium. Who cares? If I want different music, I'll listen to a different band.

It's better than most of any of his stuff after 2003, though.

Are you sure it's autotune? The compression from the radio station and youtube compression make it pretty hard to hear. (edit: ok at 7:00 )

Winter Skies is awesome. And this is mediocre.

Autotune or not, I think Tolkki is making him sing too high. He doesn't sound natural. It will only wear on his voice in the long run.

Symfonia sounds good live too. I liked Pilgrim Road more.

Edit (After reading valo's post): Tolkki likes those high notes. I think he really abused Kotipelto's voice, and I really don't think it's a good idea to push Andre's voice like that.

Matos is too old already for those high notes, when he's done 1 world tour with Symfonia he will be wasted

it summarizes my thoughts. not bad but not so good as well... I don't like background choruses and matos performance either... I'll wait for the whole album with the right sound

Anyway, I think it is too long and repeats itself too much.
I like the song more now.

I really really hate Matos' voice in the In Paradisum rip. The song has some good parts, but also a lot of meh-ones. Not the best choice for the first full song to listen to Maybe it's better in good album quality.

Live songs were ok, actually I even liked the vocals, except of all high parts.

The guitar destroying... aha (?)
