Timo may use a Duncan 59 and JB?
I use a DiMarzio Tone Zone and X2N in 3 of my axes. That's a sweet sound for heavier stuff. I'm trying Killer Pickups now (LQ-500 and Dynabite). Sound pretty good. I'm starting to prefer lower (medium) output pickups. You get a lot more single note clarity.

Yeah, it works surprisingly well. Since the X2N is such a high output pickup, the tone zone matches up great with the X2N. I believe Paul Gilbert plays two tone zones or played them? It has a very nice clarity for picking. The X2N is just a bad ass rhythm pickup.Chaoring wrote:Like Mickael RomeoHoly Light wrote:I use a DiMarzio Tone Zone and X2N. I wonder if Timo checks this? I'd like to know what kind of tubes he had in his Mesa Dual Rec? Or what he used to record with on Elements Albums.

Anyone know how I can get a Stratovarius Guitar Pick? I really want one. Timo is just so fucking bad ass. My old guitar teacher had one. Can't remember how he got it.
Re: TT's Equipment?!
I don't know where to get such a pick, but I if someone knows I also want one..
what about your new guitars,Timo?
maybe you would be so nice to tell us something about the guitars you ordered.

My new guitars will be standard ESP M II deluxe with custom paintings.
No scalloping anymore. Some Seymor Duncan pickups, I don´t even know which ones. The sound comes 60% out of a player anyway.

you think so?? i find that if a guitar does not sound just right (within reasonable margain) the mood, tone of the song changes, id say 50 50 when it comes to playing, you may be a god (timo for example) but if the guitar sucks, than the music that comes from it is sub standard
by the way timo, what do you think of the ibanez guitars?

Yeah, the player makes a guitar sound great and not just the hardware.
It's the technique and the emotions the you hear...
no matter how good a guitar is, somebody who can't play the guitar will never be able to get a good sound out of it...
now I'm not just looking forward to hear the new record, but also to see your new guitars..
Bye Slayer

I thought since you guys are discussing these things, I'd bump this topic up. Its a good topic for you music-making people. Fascinating to read, too.
