thats not sarcasm, the guy is a awsome guitar player. i just like melodic rock more than those boogy guitar pieces. the last part of that 3rd video is perfect guitar playing and i hope they do more stuff like that than the low tuned not so melodic stuff or the scales of boogy

I hope the Soundi article can be translated to English.

Is it true that TK actually talked with Tuomo Lassila and he(Tuomo) has not even heard of a StratoReunion album&has not even been contacted? :D

In any event, things are looking up, and hopefully the new name will be revealed soon.

The new Stratovarius will definitely not be any type of "boogy music".

Boogie is just too fun to say. It’s great for lyrics. It’s funny to imagine stratovarius doing some covers of songs with boogie in it. Especially with the awesome accent tk has and his vocal abilities he could get some great stuff out of that.

 Now I understand. You like boogiewoogie most of all in the world (and nice little lullabyes when you shall sleep) but you are a bit ashamed to tell us metalfans of this unusual preference. Come on we understand and if you only stop to try to convince us about its splendidness we can take it

@Morko, in all seriousness, do you know what the new name for the Old Stratovarius will be?

Something tells me the one person who absolutely won't use the Stratovarius name is Jorg.

Something also tells me it would be a huge slap in the face to Tolkki, if my above assumption were true, to replace Jorg with Tuomo Lasilla. I always liked Lassila's energy more anyways, and with how bright the future is with Matias, Jens, and Lauri, not to mention Koti is still only 38, I think it would be awesome to hire an energetic drummer like Tuomo (Assuming he's still energetic)

PLUS, it would settle the Stratovarius debate once and for all.

now if this guy gets fired for not wanting to play the parts would he really be the best choice now? is tl even interested in double bass and is the rest of the band even interested in double bass?

I think to suggest that TL didn't want to play double bass drum is being blind, because TL definitely had the drum kit for it, go watch Infinite Visions.

not having looked too much into it, i thought the two were let go because they did not want to do the new material that tt was writing and that tt needed a lead keyboard player for the material he wanted to write and play.

Timo said he hired new musicians to better fit his style, whether that was double bass drum or some other aspect, I don't know, it could be that he just wanted to make it completely his band.
You're right though, he did need a new keyboard player.

Even if that's from '96, it's quite interesting... I Hope to see some articles talking about new strato this way.
