now that is just pure greatness
Well .. it looks funnier now than it was in real life.
He called back half an hour later asking for advice on how to unload the shotgun. A bit scary. Girlfriend still crying (she was scared he would fire the thing by accident)
I don't know so much about firearms, but shotgun slugs really do seem a bit of overkill for mouse hunting... hmmm

The intertubes say a shotgun slug weighs about 30 grams and travels at appx half a km/second. And a mouse weighs about 25 grams.

So appx 4000 J of energy in the slug, which funnily enough is close to the amount needed to vaporize 25 grams of room temperature water (6500 J). So if I didn't make a mistake and if we assume all the energy of the slug was transfered to the mouse, it would be close to completely vaporized on impact. A cloud of mouse gas. Very quick and humane, but I think Mjölner is a bit less messy (not even considering the holes in the ceiling and roof)
How to hit a mouse with a shotgun slug when you have a 0.2% blood alcohol level i leave as an exercise for the reader. Hint: bring lots of ammo. And have an umbrella ready later if it starts raining on your house.
Guitar players!!!!! :)
Yes we are friends still, after I did quit the band he was pissed off but it didn't take many years until we were talking again. He stopped drinking completely now, there is not a drop backstage etc. And that's a very good thing. He was really reckless when he was young.
