I recently saw Star Trek (2010). After watching that film, not only can I understand the effect of them watching the Deep Unknown video (lens flare is awesome) but also your argument is invalid. They just travelled back from the future from our time to theirs. You know this to be true.

I always thought that TK looked too sparkly on the Infinite picture.

In the Infinite booklet look at the picture of Jörg. It looks like he's wearing mascara!
