Doubt about Under Flaming Skies

I have a little doubt about the song Under Flaming Skies and this post is for Jens.
Youtube Under Flaming Skies video is long only 2:08 minutes, and in the video there are all the parts of Under Flaming Skies except the solo.
When i'm playing the song, i'm surprised because all the song except the chorus is on the pentatonic scale and has an "oriental chinese sound", this is because the pentatonic scale is used in chinese music.
So Jens is this oriental sound with repetitions, guitaristic triplets and fast mordants present in the solo?
This is only a curiosity, because i tried to create an alternative Under Flaming Skies solo with guitar and keyboard.
I think also that the solo is only for guitar, because this scale and this succession of notes are more adaptable to the guitar.
Am i astray or is true Jens?
Just a little curiosity.

I'm not sure I'd call it a "regular solo" (shred or obvious improvisation), but in the middle there is a restatement of the first riff in D with some augmented-ish chords on top, and then a little guitar melody part before the last choruses.. the melody is thematically connected to the chorus.

Unless I misunderstand what you mean (...this is not that unlikely actually), what you call "oriental/chinese" is what we in the Yngwie days a bit wrongly called "phrygian mode". More correctly, the mode you get if you take a harmonic minor scale but start on the 5th step. Anyway to me that is a septatonic mode (does this word even exist!? ), the choruses are more pentatonic than the initial riff.

Or whatever the hell, insert usual "musical theory -> dancing about architecture" disclaimer here.

When I say "chinese" I think of the black keys on a keyboard. Like in Dave Stewart's very compact music theory text:

"trebly keys on the right, black keys sound chinese"

( and no, no keyboard solo.. why do people even bother writing songs which don't have keyboard solos in them? someone ought to pass a law )
