Stratovarius Community

Hi everyone,

Due to a recent bacterial infection my voice isn't what it should be. The infection dried out my vocal chords, and I'm still struggling to recover. Although canceling the tour was discussed, we decided to not let you down but to play for all of you great people out there who have been with you through thick and thin and continue to support Stratovarius no matter what. I want to thank all of you who have sung with me on the gigs, you guys keep me going on! I'll keep you posted about my condition and everything directly related to me on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/officialkotipelto">my facebook page</a>. I hope you've enjoyed the shows as much as we have and like our new album, Elysium. See you at the gig!

Of course we liked the Elysium Album, and I think that what you decide to do we are happy with this. It's better more years of Stratovarius than just a few years! ^^

I have faith that you'll recover soon and we'll see you on tour this year!

Just take it easy, you don't want to destroy your voice like LaBrie did on the Awake tour.

The decision must have been a painful dilemma , especially when others were invoved in it . I hope it is the good one , at least it must be good for your spirits if not so much for the vocal cords themselves ... It's reassuring at least to hear people say that you sound good !! But you know how biased your fans are !!

I think you're all aware you've negotiated a completely successful turning with that album . You've asserted a strong identity , up to you now to keep up to it !!
I mean , it's Sooo good , I like the progressive edge and unexpected passages , still sends thrills down my back and always will , I guess !
The orchestration is powerful , soaring or delicate , everything is brushed up and the songs flow smoothly into each other .

last but not least are the lyrics ... All in all an amazing journey !

EDIT: Rebel, dude...that was the first thing coming to my mind when this happened to Timo. Labrie's infection in Awake's tour. Anyway his voice got better after that times, let's hope Timo's voice too.

I'm admiring your dedication and inner strength, just hope for your own sake that you made the right decision. Not denying that I'm glad you chose to continue though - I'm terribly looking forward to Balingen Don't worry if you have to take a few seconds off in between, we're glad for every little word we get from you (and we know the lyrics to help you out ) Hope your voice recovers to former strength soon!

Btw... Balingen would be a great opportunity to play The Game Never Ends or Event Horizon or Fairness Justified or LIAM or a loooong part of Elysium... we also know the lyrics of these... just sayin'...

Hello, Timo! My daugter got the ticket for your gig in Slovenia for her birthday. She turned 16 and she wanted to see you perform live. She really admires your voice and Stratovarius. After the gig she told me that this was the best birthday present ever. She even stood under you, could give you her hand and you sang her favourite songs. So we both want to thank you for this event. It was heavenly.The whole band was great and we could see that you are really enjoying it. We wish you all the best and fast recovering. Timo, I've allways thought you guys should star doing something Sonata Arctica has been doing for some time now.

Take some songs, just some songs to a lower key, so you don't have to force your voice, and I bet it will still sound great, but I think you would really feel a lot more comfortable

Deutschland-Konzerte bis 06.02.11 abgesagt (Update)

Aufgrund einer Stimmbandentzündung von Helloween Sänger Andi, müssen wir folgende Konzerte

01. Feb D - Saarbrücken
02. Feb D - Bonn
04. Feb D - Hannover
05. Feb D - Oberhausen
06. Feb D - Osnabrück

schweren Herzens absagen! Bei der gestrigen Show im Z7 konnte sich Andi vor ausverkauftem Haus noch durchkämpfen aber um evtl Schäden an der Stimme zu vermeiden, wurde vom Arzt eine Zwangspause verordnet.

Es tut uns sehr leid und wir hoffen auf euer Verständnis - die Tickets behalten ihre Gültigkeit - einen Nachholtermin werden wir schnellstmöglich mitteilen.


So, also Andi's vocal chords are infected, wtf? Since when are these kind of things epidemic?
God, what a fucked up tour till now. They all deserve more than this
