Does somebody know about Elysium sales around the world? Better than Polaris, I suppose. It would be cool to know.

The contest this year is strong, the comptetion goes from Kosmo that learns an ABBA keyboard solo to Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS, DIO, WATERBOTTLEBAND) who has been seen molesting 7 years old in order to make a power-choir for his new experimental album that includes the progressive sounds of Indian goats fucking and Black americans snorting Cocaine in maple tabletops. I got the limited Edition (with vinyl). They sent me a message on the start of February saying it should be available some time this month.bockrocker wrote:Dude that recordshopx will get you a copy like 5 days after release straight from FinlandNeverendingAbyss wrote:Amazon still hasn't shipped my Elysium copy.

Hello Victor! I said that because of that details you are posting now here. I remember you posted it in symfonia forum. TT was saying that In Paradisum sold better than Elysium in Japan and I was telling to him that if he could post the sales figures (he didn't accept) and you posted this.VictorTDD wrote:updated info from Oricon Style (http://www.oricon.co.jp/)
Symfonia - In Paradisum
2011年03月30日発売, MICP-10980

Stratovarius - Elysium
2011年01月12日発売, VICP-64916
Ranked No.48 (Highest Position), 5 weeks on chart

Actually, I don't think different positions in different weeks can be compared with each other. One album get a higher position in a certain week, but it doesn't mean the album sells more than another album which get a lower position in another week. The rank position is relative, not some kind of sales number.
I'm not saying Elyiusm sold better in Japan or In Paradiusm did so, I don't know the exact number of the sales for each album so I can't judge it. All I can say is both albums are great and the sale positions they got in Japan and Finland satisfied me at least.
No, I posted sales positions instead of sales figures.RazielSR wrote:Hello Victor! I said that because of that details you are posting now here. I remember you posted it in symfonia forum. It would be cool to know the sales figures.
No words indicated In Paradisum sold more on sales figure, so I think he was talking about the sales positions. But like what I said, position is not everything, we can use it to estimate the sales situation of an album, but it's not an absolute index. For the sake of comparison since it seems so popular, Symfonia's debut exceeded Elysium in Japan for example easily.
For me is important to know sales figures not because I want to see Stratovarius selling like a pop band, I want to know it to see if they are doing good enough to continue making music and not having problems with new records or tours. You know, like Visions-Episode era. They were at the top of power metal. Now is quite difficult, I know.VictorTDD wrote:No, I posted sales positions instead of sales figures.RazielSR wrote:Hello Victor! I said that because of that details you are posting now here. Anyway, why stick to the sales figures, we don't know about them. Maybe the records companies have the data, but I doubt they will be published. In the last, what mostly counts is the music we love.
Yeah, I totally understand it. If there were sales figures about those records, I would be glad to know. I'm very interested in info about strato (and related bands) records. Maybe we need some friends in records companies, haha.RazielSR wrote:For me is important to know sales figures not because I want to see Stratovarius selling like a pop band, I want to know it to see if they are doing good enough to continue making music and not having problems with new records or tours. About Symfonia I asked because TT can easily say the band is no more if the sales figures are not good, as he did with RR.
