OR maybe that guy from Cain's Offering? He has experience with Kotipelto....

He used to play with Paul Di'Anno and Thyrane

Lassila would bring the lost, true spirit of Stratovarius back to the band! Shame he got kicked by Tolkki.

Well the same thing as to people who would consider Tommy Portimo of Sonata Arctica a good drummer for Stratovarius...

No thanks. Stratovarius is a lot more technical and progressive than those two bands and their style would not fit Stratovarius at all. Just because you can name a drummer of a Finnish Power Metal band doesn't mean he might be a good drummer for Stratovarius. Look at Lauri and Matias! They came out of nowhere when they were least expected. Finland is simply full of young talented musicians and letting them join the old bands will bring in something fresh. But it's not just the young who are talented. Look at Kiuas and how they quickly rebuilt their lineup after three members left. I was not very familiar with any of them but the line-up seems to works really really well (at the they were able to rebuild their line-eup a lot better than Power Quest who just got their fourth vocalist in two years)

like with anything in life it's a risk however considering the good band decisions they have made beforehand I'm confident they will pick a good drummer

Lauri actually had experience in Warmen and Kotipelto, both Strato-related.
They let us have signatures on this forum???

The thing about Alex, is that he can play Jörg's stuff, but he's no Jörg clone...

But lets wait... :)

The fact is that when Jörg was ill, Alex Landerburg said that there were more drummers interested with drumming in Strato and that the band asked for a performance to decide whatever.

It's well known that Strato is searching for a very single excellent drummer, not everyone that asks for replace Jörg, but since the Official statement it has passed more or less 6 months, which fucking drummer will come?... There are a lot of important topics that no one has idea of it : DVD, next drummer, next CD, etc. Let's wait...

I wouldn't be able to decide where to look at during a show... him, Lauri and TK together on one stage, wouldn't it neccessarily explode when filled with such a lot of energy

If Anders could manage to tour with Hammerfall and also Stratovarius I would pray for Anders to join Stratovarius.

For years I always thought about this option... in case Jörg would leave the band someday.

Nowaydays it is "just" a matter of time-management and structure to handle two bands of this size. Just joking: of course it is stressing!!!... and hard to organize... but with good management or in the best case joint forces concerning management and booking maybe possible ! (?)

With Anders and Jens the most organic! nearly symbiotic :) Keyboard-drum-alliance would be reestablished.

It's impossible for Anders, he plays in HammerFall (as a full-time drummer) and in FullForce (where he spends a lot of time too). Stratovarius needs a full-time drummer and Anders nowadays doesn't fit with the needs that tha band has.

i really think it's gonna be Alex Landemburg, since he has free time because of Synfonia splitted...

in the other case, they just might search for a new talented/unknown musician, which would have more sense.

Actually it will be someone who already showed and proved his talent many times and is the best drummer of his country. But he is not THAT known in the World... yet.

They should get that guy who left Dream Theater. I've heard he's good at writing statements.

The new Stratovarius drummer is Alex Landenburg.
