I'm a bit disappointed. They said they'd play some songs that they have never played live before. And well, they did. But I sort of assumed that'd mean selected cuts from their own back catalogue.
OMG, they fired Jari! Bastards!

I Walk To My Own Song :banana1: :banana2: :banana1: :banana2: :banana1: :banana2: :banana1: :banana2: :banana1: :banana2:

and Coming Home, too, well that's fucking great!!! At least for me.

But yeah, too bad for Elysium, and fuck those cover songs, they aren't Children Of Bodom... well, maybe at one of the next shows, I still hope! Wouldn't mind all this in Helsinki show - but with Elysium instead of Visions, Eagleheart and Paradise :D

And maybe Infernal Maze and Castaway instead of Under Flaming Skies and Darkest Hours...

Well , both " Elysium" and " Papillon" are SOoo demanding !!
( I don't even mention the feat of managing the French , and I thank again Timo for doing those favours to foreign fans , as with the beautiful" Te Amare" too )

Those songs require hight pitches , breathing and concentration difficult to achieve on stage where you have also to be a showman/ actor and responsive to all sorts of( sometimes unexpected) things , as well as playing along with the public .
Personally , I'd love to see the covers , and of course " coming home" is an all-time favourite ..

Deep thanks to the band and to Jörg !

There would be a complete shame to not play Elysium live, the best song in Stratovarius career.

I usually dislike live covers, since bands with long careers like Stratovarius usually don't even have enough room in the setlist to play sufficient amount of their own material, but this is just awesome. I hope they record this for the DVD as well.

..But still, I would prefer Elysium a 100 times over the three covers.

That's the point, it's hard enough to choose from their own songs, isn't it? Anyway:

Other songs tbf there as well :) How pleasing it is to hear Coming Home :)

Hm, since there's a good possibility that the covers are Jörg's choice, I guess I shouldn't be too hard with them  But still...

Whose choice they are .. maybe beside the point , the idea is that the band members all concur in that choice .. Anyway , most covers were done by Timo in his duos with Jani , so the " work " ( for want of another word) on those song has already been done and they've proven fantastic when performed .

The chat with Jorg starts only 75 minutes after the concert, so the show will be 75 minutes or less. Butt, I doubt I'll be disappointed, unless he refuses to entertains questions about his reproductive organs... :nervous:

I wish that they are not going to play any covers today here in Lutakko. I'm going there to listen Stratovarius, not any cover band.
