Hallowed and Last Shore

Post by fernandotcl » Sat Feb 25, 2012 9:15 pm

Hi,

I just managed to listen to those songs, they're so amazing! Is it true that they're only available in the 7" vinyl? I don't even have a record player, let alone something that allows me to record from vinyl... :(

And even if I had a way to record from vinyl, the quality would probably suck (like the copies I managed to find).

I'd shell out good money for those tracks in a CD. Time for Intermission pt. 2?

Regards,

I don't think they have the time for an "Intermission" again. :lol:

Yeah, I'm not suggesting they take a break. :-P

Intermission was a great idea, though. I wish more bands released albums like that. Bonus tracks are a bitch to track down. And some of Stratovarius' finest works are bonus tracks (to me anyways).

I think it's a little bit too early to have another Intermission :)

We do have enough tracks for at least an EP. Those were the bonus tracks that aren't in Intermission (please let me know if I'm missing any of them):

* Into the Deep Blue (~6:21)
* Ride Like the Wind (4:49)
* Second Sight (4:25)
* Castaway (4:39)
* Hallowed (~5:57)
* Last Shore (~5:50)

That's about 30 minutes. In comparison, Intermission had 7 bonus tracks:

* Keep the Flame (2:47)
* Why Are We Here? (4:43)
* What Can I Say (5:12)
* Dream With Me (5:13)
* When the Night Meets the Day (5:26)
* It's a Mystery (4:04)
* Cold Winter Nights (5:13)

And that's about 32 minutes. Intermission also had 4 unreleased songs, 3 cover tracks and a live track.

So we do have enough bonus material for another album with the same structure as Intermission. :-)

It could work quite well but remember that they are mixing a DVD Live Album, they are searching a new drummer and composing songs for the new CD... perhaps it will be realesed something like that after the next CD world tour or something like that!
Nowadays they are focusing on finishing those 3 aspects : D

+ They said they had about 80 songs for Elysium. Perhaps they didn't release every song they recorded or maybe they could record a few more of them.

Why?

I don't quite get it, I'm not saying I'd like them to stop doing everything they're doing now to make an Intermission-like album. I'm saying I wish they did that eventually.

I really don't get it, am I the only one who loves their bonus tracks?

Yeah I missed that, there's Run Away too, then.

illpotro, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Blackout was in Intermission. Why wouldn't Run Away be in an Intermission-like album?

hi!!! Blackout only in the S.O.S single not in Intermission....i think the idea of Intermission album only have the rare tracks and bonus tracks not b-sides like blackout, future shock 96, etc. and the run away are a b-side in the elements 1 time....now it a bonus in the elements remastered from metalmind.....

Actually, Blackout is the bonus track in Russian edition of Intermission. :lol:

Bonus-songs or b-sided... who cares.. they are both "rare" tracks which was the point of intermission.
