According to their press release on Ear Music/Edel, "The new album “Nemesis” unites all the best traits of the band’s melodic, powerful, fresh and technically elaborated metal, all spiced up with an incredible sense for melody."


Timo Kotipelto on the album, "“This album has a darker and more modern sound. We, as a band, have gone through a lot and we have matured as songwriters. The making of this album was easier than before, because we could give it as much time as needed."

I know - I only get real into the forum in anticipation of a new album- I think it was the same for Elysium. But WOW! "Nemesis" Every Strato has been very whimsical and amazing, not this one just the title alone speaks powerful and dark. I just hope they don't lose the Strato- sound, yes evolve and do something courageous and adventurous but the core be intact. This is why we need a sample LOL!

Oh wow, I love these titles and the artwork! Although I didn't expect anything like that at all, looks very powermetallike to me Did you all see what Matias has to say about Unbreakable:

"’Unbreakable’ is a very important song to me and the lyrics have a lot of personal meaning. Sometimes you can snap out of your day to day fog and see what is important. And when you are in that special moment, when you have that special feeling, you are invincible, unbreakable; you should really stop and enjoy the feeling. What happened to that Hungarian dude who made the artwork for the last two albums? This is a huuuge drop quality-wise from those.

Due to being Hungarian and for the fact that he made an awesome job I also miss Gyula. The angel looks good but the background is rather blurry and bad. Hopefully the album cover will be a more quality job.

WoW! "Nemesis" seems to be a very powerful name for the new album! I really like the name of the single too, Unbreakable seems to say : "Hi, we are Stratovarius and we are invencible" xD.

Anyway, Gyula did an excellent job for the latest artworks (Polaris and Elysium) and my question now is: is this truly something done by him? Because there's no Falling Star! I really hope he will continue working for Stratovarius covers because he is awesome.

But I really like the artwork because, despite of the quality ( for me it's great, just look at the angel wings! Her feathers seem real!!) the artwork needs to mean something. This angel seems "Unbreakable", she has the power embodied in the sword.

The only negative thing: it seems a cover made in 2003 for some Elements cover where we can see, perhaps not angels, but bodies of divinities ( of the water, earth, fire or wind) doing something.

Anyway this cover is far better than "Deep Unknown"'s EP Cover and perhaps not as far as it seems to be of the "Darkest Hours" 's one.

Except the blue angel was tasteful, and the fact is the quality of the art is art. The wings, the body, and the background look like they're from three completely different images, and they don't have any visual cohesion, and I'm not sure if that half crescent is a very misshapen lens flare, or another angel flying, or just purposeless flare. Not to mention it reminds me of Skylark album art, and Skylark is a band that nobody should ever want to emulate any part of.
