Current interviews
With all the promotion the guys are doing thanks to their label, there are a whole lot of interviews around atm, so I thought we could have a topic for them all instead of posting some of them here and there Stuff helps a lot to bear the remaining waiting time
What I found most interesting in the newer ones was what the guys had to say about which of the new songs they would want play live (Halcyon Days, well I'm definitely looking forward to see how that turns out live!, or pretty much all of them - well, I'd like to see THAT once as well ), about the big promotion tour they are doing for Nemesis, the reunion-discussion and about the origin of Gyula's artwork.

And although the topic is called "current" interviews, I'll post a few from 2012 as well, although they're already out of date, but maybe some of you like listening to Jens-interviews no matter how old they are Some of them probably have already been posted in other topics, sorry for redundance!

Re: Current interviews
I have an interview as well that I'm in the process of transcribing and posting. I'm away this weekend, but maybe it'll be up Monday. I hope so, there's some cool stuff about the composition and recording of the album, as well as the involvement of Jani Liimitainen.

You never could learn the big red letters, could you? At all! They would do wonders for the emotional impact of your posts, which frankly I find lacking at times.ÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖ wrote:You asked me once were I was going. Now it is my turn! Re: Current interviews
Sorry guys, got a retreat to be at, I'll be home Sunday, but we tend not to post material on weekends. However, you should really check out our best of 2012 lists, I know there weren't a lot of big name releases last year, but it was a great year for smaller bands, and our contributors are all pretty in the know about metal. I've already heard 8 albums from 2013.ÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖ wrote:Rebel wrote:I have an interview as well that I'm in the process of transcribing and posting. http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/audios/el-vuelo-del-fenix/ (weird one, Spanish questions, their answers in English and then translated into Spanish again but very good one and they had a lot of fun, and it's got their acoustic perfomance included!)
Damn funny, TK's reaction to Halcyon Days seems to have been quite similar to ours - first time: WTF, second time: I sort of like it, then: my favourite song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSTCz4-c ... e=youtu.be
lol they show a Tampere clip and title "live performance in Germany", and show a part of the Deep Unknown-vid from when announcing Rolf as the new drummer and title "recording sessions for Nemesis"

I'm back, I'm going to work on transcribing the interview tomorrow morning and have it up tomorrow night I hope. We'll see, transcribing interviews is obnoxious work.

Re: Current interviews
I am really looking forward to read or listen a full interview with Matias Kupiainen.
I mean, he is the mixer and producer of the album(Nemesis), he has composed (or co-composed) the music for 7 of the songs and write the lyrics for 3 of them, plus he was in the end the composer (or co-composer) of 6 of the 9 songs of Elysium and the lyrics of 2 of them and he produced and mixed something of that album. So, in the end Matias seems to be the primal engine of the band! I am really looking forward to read his point of view of the whole thing
PS: I am not despising those interviews, it's good to listen and read words from Jens and Timo! (And of course they seem to be responsible of the promotion so I respect it a lot!)

Re: Current interviews
I really liked the interview with Jens. He is so genuine.
Its appealing to think that musicians only write new tunes after living in a tree for a year or having psychedelic out-of-body experiences. But in fact the songs we enjoy are the products of many long and grueling hours in front of the computer. And it doesn't diminish the final value in any way- thats just life!
